Applegate is reportedly pregnant with her first child.  She and fiancé Martyn Lenoble have confirmed the information to People Magazine.

Lenoble asked the beautiful blond actress to marry him Valentine’s Day this year after having dated for two years.  The Dutch bass player supported Applegate during her battle with cancer that lead to a double mastectomy.  ”I’m very grateful to Martyn for coming along at a time that he did because he’s been my rock through all of this,” said the actress to People. “He gave me something to really want to live for and something to smile about.”   They have yet to set a wedding date.

Both of the performers have been married before.  The Samantha Who? star and her first husband, Johnathon Schaech, divorced in 2007.

“I have a small but mighty support system and Martyn has really been an incredible part of my life,” said the smitten Applegate to Us Weekly back in April.  ”Without him, I don’t know if I could’ve gone through any of it. He kind of came around at a time when there was a lot of loss in my life on many levels, so he’s been a really incredible help.”

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Anderson, who was most recently seen on Dancing With The Stars, was set to reveal her new PETA ad in her home country of Canada, but when she arrived in Montreal she was told that officials had banned the ad.  The ad, where Anderson is clad in a little blue bikini with writing showing the cuts of meat on an animal, was deemed “sexist” by Canadian officials.

“In a city that is known for its exotic dancing and for being progressive and edgy, how sad that a woman would be banned from using her own body in a political protest over the suffering of cows and chickens,” said Anderson in a statement to Us Magazine.  ”In some parts of the world, women are forced to cover their whole bodies with burqas — is that next? I didn’t think that Canada would be so puritanical.”

A Montreal official explained their reasoning for turning down the permit.  ”It is not so much controversial, as it goes against all principles public organisations are fighting for in the everlasting battle between men and women.”

PETA’s senior vice president, Dan Matthews said he thinks the officials in Montreal have confused “sexist” with “sexy.”

This is not the first time Anderson’s been in trouble for her PETA ads.  In September of 2009, CNN refused to air a commercial of the actress stripping for the “animal rights” group.

Former Dallas Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson is apparently part of the cast of Survivor: Nicaragua, which is currently filming.  Johnson, who is 67 years old and known for his perfect/immobile hair, will be fighting against an currently unnamed cast to keep his torch lit.

CBS is neither confirming nor denying Johnson’s involvement in the show, stating they don’t comment on casting speculations.  However, Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas broke the news of the legend’s casting, citing an unnamed source.  Johnson will be the second Cowboy to take part in the show’s run.  Former Cowboys quarterback Gary Hogeboom was a contestant on Survivor: Guatemala, where he finished in seventh place.

Since the show has only a brief filming schedule (39 days), Johnson will be back in plenty of time to take part in his job as an analyst for FOX’s NFL pre-game show.  Johnson, who lead the Cowboys to two Super Bowl wins in the 1990s, has been with FOX since 2000.

The rumor is we should expect to see an announcement by CBS about the rest of the cast members announced mid-August.  The twist this season is supposedly going to be pitting the under 30 crowd against the older contestants.

A former assistant prop master named Carl Jones has filed a lawsuit in L.A. County Superior Court, claiming that he was harassed repeatedly by two of his supervisors and ultimately fired for not participating in “degenerate conduct” with them, including “visits to strip bars, participation in getting drunk, stoned or intoxicated on cocaine, to participate in sexual conduct at the trailer, and other dangerous conduct.”

Jones claims the supervisors would refer to himself and other co-workers as slaves, idiots, racial slurs, homophobic terms, and curse words.  I don’t feel comfortable repeating some of those words involved, but if you wish to see them, you may read them on TMZ’s page.

The assistant prop master also claims these supervisors brought guns on set on occasion and even participated in throwing real knives at a target on set.  These supervisors were apparently drunk on tequila while throwing the cutlery.  He also claims these supervisors would bring girls who were working on set into the props trailer to have sex with them then brag about such conquests in front of Jones.  Jones was also allegedly subjected to sexually harassing speech, including references to Sadism and Masochism topics.

Jones claims he tried to report the activity to one of the co-producers but his words went ignored and ultimately he was “blackballed” from future work on the show.  He’s seeking $1,000,000 in damages, claiming he’s now depressed and even suffered physical injury while on the set.

Universal, who produces House, had no comment on the matter.  If you wish to see the court documents, check them out here.

Back in May, a soldier named Bill (last name probably omitted to prevent further issues for the man) was told he was being transferred from North Carolina to another base out west.  He called up Time Warner Cable to see if he could continue service out there and when  it was determined he couldn’t, he cancelled his service.  ”I was not told of any penalties at that time. A few weeks later, I received a statement showing a credit for the portion of my May service not used — approx. $64. My wife confirmed on the phone with an operator that we owed nothing and would soon receive our check,” says Bill in a letter to the Consumerist.

Not long after moving, Bill received a new letter claiming that he owed Time Warner $14 after being charged a $78 early cancellation fee.  He called and explained that this had no been discussed with him previously and was against the Servicemember’s Civil Relief Act as they moved on active orders.  He was given the option of making the balance $0, but was told if he wanted his money then the customer service rep would have to speak with “management.”  Bill said he definitely wanted the money and that Time Warner had no options here.

In July, Bill received a call from a Time Warner rep saying that if he didn’t pay the $14 then they would be reporting him to the credit bureau.  He explained the situation again and was asked to fax a copy of his orders to the company to be handled that very day.  He thought everything was finally handled… until he got yet another invoice for $14 in the mail.

I am not a customer of Time Warner and probably never will be because of stunts like this.  As someone who grew up around military bases and has military family, I am appalled that a cable company would break the law to not have to refund $64 to a soldier.  What started out as a simple mistake has evolved into an idiotic display by a multi-million dollar company.  Shame on you Time Warner Cable!

A reporter at a Mexico City press conference for The Last Airbender asked, “You had a strong start of your career with The 6th Sense.  Your movies have always been very personal.  However, the audience has lost faith in your work with Lady in the Water and many of your more recent productions.  Airbender feels like you want to captivate the audience again by becoming more commercial, am I right?”

What a perfect way to phrase things Ms. Unknown Reporter!  Surely the great and powerful Shyamalan will answer you kindly for your astute observation!

“I think if I thought like you I’d kill myself.  Everything you said is the opposite of my instinct as an artist.  The way you just thought, I literally would kill myself,” said the director at the start of his three minute long answer he throws at this reporter.

Umm… what?

Watching Jackson Rathbone’s face through the proceedings is hilarious despite the awful words being said.  He goes from thinking it’s a joke to becoming more and more horrified by the second.  He finally interjects, not looking pleased to do so, but stops the ire of Shyamalan finally.

To be completely honest I can’t decide whether this video is hilarious in Shyamalan’s blindness of his own career or whether it’s horrifying that a grown man would talk this way on camera to another human being.

But what exactly is a digital movie locker?

Built by the company Digital Entertainment Content Ecosystem (DECE), the UltraViolet digital movie locker stores movies you purchase, regardless of the format or where you purchase it from, into one location so you can watch your movies at any time.  Your account will go with you no matter what machine you use, just like your card at an ATM machine.

The main idea is that the UltraViolet stores tokens or proof of purchase whenever the consumer purchases a DVD, Blu-Ray disc, or downloadable content.  The machine then allows the consumer to view their purchases from any machine he or she desires, including mobile devices and televisions.

So far DECE has some pretty big backers in Warner Bros., Netflix, Best Buy, and Microsoft, Inc.  However, Apple has not thrown its weight behind the device, potentially posing problems for items bought through Apple products like the iPad or iTunes.  Apple declined to comment about the situation.

Another group who hasn’t backed DECE is The Walt Disney Company, who plans to make a digital movie locker of their own called KeyChest.  There’s no word as to how far long this project is.

There’s still a few hurdles to face in the making of UltraViolet, one of the biggest being that the retailer selling the product may not be the one who has to spend the money to send the product to the consumer either over the Internet or over set-top boxes.  Despite that, this concept is a strong one and I certainly hope it gains ground.

After her DUI, breaking parole, and then drinking while wearing a SCRAM anklet, Lindsey Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail followed by 90 days in a rehabilitation center.  She was set to start her sentence today.

TMZ had a live feed at the courthouse, allowing the world to see if there was a last minute reprieve.  Of course there wasn’t.

Lohan entered the courthouse while a slew of cameras took pictures and one lone protester screamed how he loved Lindsey and her lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holly.  Holly had resigned as Lohan’s lawyer a month previous but Lohan’s replacement lawyer, Robert Shapiro, resigned hours before her surrender.

The two entered the courthouse and while the judge read the sentence, Lohan looked like she had seriously given up.  It’s hard to see someone in that much pain, but the cameras stayed on her.  The judge ordered the cameras off when Lohan was to be physically taken into custody- no audio, no stills, no video.

Outside, the lone protester had turned into two, until the first protester tried humping the second and he left.  Wearing a pink shirt and booty shorts, this unnamed Lohan fan screamed at the top of his lungs (yes, I said his) “Free Lindsey!!” while holding a sign that said the same.  He said she was the icon of his generation, that she was the most beautiful woman in the world and her album was “awesome.”  When asked if he took any medication by a reporter he replied, “I take vitamins every day.  Why would you ask something like that?”

Michael Lohan gave a brief interview outside the courthouse through his representative who stated that Mr. Lohan was “devastated” that his daughter was going to jail.  At this point our protester screamed, “Father of the year!!” and the interview was over, leaving us to watch Lindsey’s dad fade into the crowd.

While Lindsey Lohan is sentenced to 90 days in jail, it’s likely she’ll only serve a quarter of her sentence (23 days).

Hewitt plays a mother who starts turning tricks in order to support her injured husband and three small children.  After being caught, she agrees to turn over some of the high profile clients in order to get a better deal.  The question that seems to be burning up the search engines is whether or not this story is based on a true one.

The answer is not as simple as the question.  Yes, The Client List is based on a true story, but only loosely.  The real story apparently took place in Texas.  Cynthia Martinez, a 44 year-old mother, started a “massage parlor” out of her home in order to help support her children.  She was busted for prostitution during a sting operation and then was charged with running the parlor without a license (I guess she actually massaged a few people instead of just “massaging” people).  Martinez denied all charges.  You can check out the full report at the Dallas Morning News, but it seems their site is acting a little funny.

So while both revolve around prostitution and massage parlors, that’s all they really have in common.  Martinez didn’t have a hunky husband to fret over and tried to have a go at this whole thing on her own as opposed to being hired to do what Hewitt was doing.

My heart goes out to Martinez and all women who feel they have no other options left.

I don’t want to spoil things for you so I’ll go with what you’ve seen on commercials.  Balthazar (Nicolas Cage) is a sorcerer who’s just picked up an apprentice named Dave (Jay Baruchel).  The two of them are fighting an evil sorcerer, Horvath (Alfred Molina), who’s trying to destroy downtown New York City.

That’s where the common knowledge really ends. Baruchel (How To Train Your Dragon, She’s Out Of My League) plays the lovable geek, as is his usual shtick. I’ve loved watching Baruchel since I first saw him in Numb3rs and he doesn’t disappoint here.  Cage and Molina serve as an odd, but workable pair as they attempt to blast each other into smithereens all over the NYU campus.  Cage is as he always is- somewhat bland, usually way too serious, but fitting as the character calls for both.  Of course, Molina makes an excellent bad guy as he’s had plenty of practice with his most recent well known “bad guy” role being Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2.

The movie is cute and incredibly Disney.  There’s more action than you’d find in The Aristocats, but it’s still strongly Disney in nature.  Cute is really as far as it goes though.  There’s action, but not enough of it.  There’s humor, but not enough of it.  There’s romance, but not enough of it.  There’s just not enough of this movie.  It’s cute, but forgettable.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed my experience and I’m sure you will too.  It was a pleasant stay-inside-because-it’s-too-hot movie, but I could barely remember details as I walked out of the theater.

With it being Steve Carell’s last season, we had to see Holly again.  Writer/executive producer/cast member Paul Lieberstein has confirmed that yes, Holly will be back, but not just for a quick cameo.  Ryan will be around for eight episodes.

That means we’ll be able to enjoy Holly Flax for a third of the season, leading me to believe she might have something to do with Michael Scott leaving at the end of the season.

The season finale showed Scott asking Sabre CEO Jo (Kathy Bates) asking if she could bring Holly back.  Jo will do just that, but Holly will not be a happy camper about being back in Scranton.  Apparently she’s built herself a nice life with her boyfriend A.J. (Rob Huebel who may or may not return) and doesn’t want to leave it according to Lieberstein.

In regards to Carell’s departure, Lieberstein says he doesn’t want to see Carell go but at the same time thinks it may bring a fresh angle to the show.  ”To actually get to write someone out who’s a main character, it’s a cool opportunity. Not that I want Steve to leave, but in the long run” it could be a benefit to the series.

There’s been no solid decision on who will replace Carell, but it was reported earlier that writer/executive producer/cast member (jeez, does everyone on this cast serve multiple functions?) Mindy Kaling is pushing for Rainn Wilson’s Dwight to snag the job.

Donald Trump seems to believe so at least.  TMZ has learned that three weeks ago the corporate giant contacted Woods’ mistress number one, Rachel Uchitel, to offer her a spot on the next season of The Celebrity Apprentice.  When asked why Trump said that Uchitel would be “awesome” on the show.

Would she even take a position?  ”Absolutely,” said Uchitel when asked by TMZ.

Ultimately the decision is in the hands of NBC, but this is Donald Trump we’re talking about.  The man makes money hand over fist and I wouldn’t be surprised if he had at one of his many residencies a money pit not unlike Scrooge McDuck from Ducktales.  I’m sure NBC will fall in line.

After Elin took a golf club to Tiger Woods’ SUV, it was revealed that Woods had started his long line of affairs with Uchitel.  Later on it was revealed that the dark haired lady had also had an affair with Bones star David Boreanaz, though it had occurred before her romp with Woods.  Boreanaz revealed the infidelity before Uchitel and the press could.

So what makes this girl so special that she lands not one, but two famous men for relationships (even if they are extramarital)?  No idea, but obviously Donald Trump sees something there.

Andrews has filed a civil lawsuit in the State Court of Chicago against a string of hotels.  In the suit, Andrews claims that the hotels, which include Marriott and Radisson, let her stalker know her room number and allowed him to check in to adjacent rooms to hers.  The stalker of Andrews, Michael David Barrett, taped the ESPN star through modified peepholes in her hotel doors.

“Erin filed the lawsuit to send a message to hotel chains that they need to exercise greater care in protecting their guests. She was seriously harmed by what happened there,” said Andrews’ attorney Marshall Grossman to TMZ in an interview.

Hopefully this pans out for Andrews.  Earlier this month the courts shut down an attempt by ESPN to collect over $300,000 from Barrett for the extra expenses they had to pay (mainly for security) because of Barrett’s actions.  Barrett claimed to be “penniless” and felt he shouldn’t foot the bill for a third party.  The documents filed in California’s District Court seemed to agree, stating that ESPN voluntarily paid for all costs in respect to Andrews.

The blond journalist was most recently seen competing on the popular reality show Dancing with the Stars where she placed third.

The Michael Vaughn directed film has already nabbed James McAvoy to play Charles Xavier and Michael Fassbender to be Eric Lehnsherr (Magneto).  Two new folks have popped up on the casting radar- an actress on the rise and an established legend.

Jennifer Lawrence has been getting rave reviews for her role in Winter’s Bone and has caught the eye of Fox.  The blonde beauty has just been cast as the role of Mystique, a shape shifter who can mimic the appearance of anyone, though she can’t take on their super powers.  In the comic lore, Mystique is the mother of Nightcrawler but the movies have not delved into that.  The character was originally portrayed by Rebecca Romijn, who did a lovely job, so Lawrence has a bit to live up to.

The big news is that Kevin Bacon is a done deal to star as the villain in the picture.  The actual role is being kept under a tight lid, though speculation is that it will be Mister Sinister.  Deadline first revealed the information last week, but no deals were set in stone at the time.  Fox has refused to comment to all news sites about Bacon’s character, but given the actor’s range I’m sure he’ll be spectacular.

Filming for X-Men: First Class will begin in London this fall.  The picture is set to release in 2011.

The Oprah Winfrey Show has hit an all time low with ratings recently slipping below the 3.0 mark.  Since the show’s inception it has never gone below said mark.

The show faced a few issues in the recent weeks, but it’s nothing it hasn’t handled before.  The show was in repeats leading up to a holiday and for two days during the week the show was preempted in favor of Wimbledon coverage in 14 markets.  These could be the major factors in the slip but I have another theory.

With the launch of Oprah’s new network, OWN, a contest was launched to give a regular person a chance at having their own reality program.  There were many categories to apply to like Talk Show, Health Show, and a Wildcard category for those who didn’t fit in the others.  One individual rose to the top like a balloon- Zack Anner.  Zack was born with cerebral palsy (which he says “is the sexiest of the palsies”) and made a hilarious video about how he’d like to make a travel show for folks who never thought they could travel.

The controversy started when all of a sudden a woman named Dr. Phylis, an almost carbon copy of Oprah herself, took the number one spot from Zack in a matter of 20 minutes.  Because of the wonders of the Internet, fans saw that Dr. Phylis seemed to gain two votes for every one vote given to Zack.  This sparked search terms like “Oprah hates the handicapped” to pop up on Google Trends.

While I’m sure Oprah herself had nothing to do with what happened, it does look like one of her executives decided to take matters into their own hands and dethrone Zack from his number one spot.  In my not so humble opinion, this is probably the main reason for ratings slippage.

Zoe Green is wrapping up negotiations with the major filmmaker to develop a story revolving around the stone carvings with Lauren Shuler Donner and Jack Leslie via the Donners’ Co producing the project.  The project hopes to center around the mythology of the carvings, which first surfaced in medieval times as water spouts but soon turned into symbols to ward off or attract evil.  While the mythology will be the center, it’s known the project will center around modern times.

Green is already a working name in the fantasy field.  She has created the story Tigeress which is being produced by Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment for Disney and sold a fantasy project titled Book of Shadows for Castle Rock to be directed by Rob Reiner.  She’s also in the process of adapting the Neal Stephenson novel The Diamond Age into a mini-series for SyFy.

It’s believed this story idea came from the gargoyles in the recently released Sorcerer’s Apprentice.  My big question is why this new project has the green light, but the well loved cartoon Gargoyles from when I was a kid never got the opportunity to have its big screen debut?  If you’re going to make a movie about gargoyles, why not use the characters already known?

Either way, I’d like to see how this develops.

The popular magazine has decided to post a first glance at the highly anticipated superhero film The Green Lantern that’s set to be out next summer.  DC Comics’ The Green Lantern follows the life of Hal Jordan, a cocky test pilot who becomes a ring wearing superhero.  The ring can conjure up anything Hal desires through will and imagination.

Ryan Reynolds is stepping into the role of Hal Jordan with Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) directing the flick.  Reynolds is no stranger to comic book movies as he played Deadpool in Marvel’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but playing Green Lantern proved to have its own unique challenges (like being hurled on a wire at 60 feet per second to simulate flying).  “The first time you do it, you’re seriously considering an adult diaper,” Reynolds said to Entertainment Weekly.  The cover of the magazine shows Reynolds in his glowing Lantern uniform, a definite update from the comic green and white Jordan usually sports.

EW is featuring The Green Lantern now because it’s one of the big films coming to San Diego Comic Con next week.

As a comic book nerd to my very core I am thrilled to see Reynolds take the ring.  I certainly hope this movie lives up to the comics!

With Larry King’s announced retirement, speculation over his successor on the rise.  It seems that Morgan has risen to the top and is now poised to take over.  The UK news site The Sun reported today that Morgan has signed a £5.5 million four-year deal with CNN for the job.  ”He agreed to work 30 weeks a year for the annual £1.4million salary and is expected to move to the States,” says the article.

The only foreseeable problem is Morgan’s judging spot on America’s Got Talent.  The show is owned by NBC, who also runs MSNBC.  It was assumed that the network, who has a contract with Morgan, would never allow him to work for a competing news network.  If The Sun’s report is true, did Morgan get out of his contract with NBC or will he continue to judge America’s Got Talent?

What many Americans don’t know is before Morgan graced our small screens by judging odd acts, he was the editor of both Britain’s Mirror newspaper and News of the World. He’s a serious journalist who (I think) would excel in the position King has left vacant.  Other folks reportedly considered for the job were Ryan Seacrest and Katie Couric, but Morgan apparently wow’d the execs during his interviews.

So what do you think?  Is Piers Morgan the best choice to take over for Larry King or should they keep looking?

Magnolia president Eamonn Bowles made the deal over several face-to-face meetings with Affleck as well as attending buyer screenings held on both coasts by sales agent WME Global.  Phoenix is familiar with Magnolia as they did his last film, Two Lovers, before he joined this project.

Details on the mockumentary are being kept under a tight lid at the moment, but it’s said to be an interesting experience for those who’ve seen it.  According to Deadline, “Some distribs walked away turned off, or confused. They weren’t sure if they were watching an Andy Kaufman-like hoax, or if Affleck was actually chronicling a great actor’s meltdown. Among other hijinks, Phoenix is seen snorting coke off the breast of a prostitute.”

There’s no word as to whether Bowles believed the story, but obviously he believes it will sell well.  The president acknowledged that the film will most likely premiere at a festival (speculation is Venice or Toronto) and that the platform release will be on September 10 (the wide release will be a week later).

I’d imagine since it’s being called a “mockumentary” that the film is fictional.  If it is then congratulations to Mr. Phoenix on maintaining such a character outside of the film.  Your scruffy beard, unkempt hair, and “BYE! GOOD” fingers certainly threw us off.  If it’s not fictional and being mis-marketed then someone needs to get that man to a clinic.  Soon.  Maybe a clinic/hairdresser if they make such places.

Kaling, who received a nomination for co-writing last season’s Jim/Pam wedding episode, is very much Team Dwight.  “I’d love to see Rainn Wilson in that position.  Dwight has become so nuanced — you actually care about him now. I think if [we did a good job laying the groundwork] this coming season, he would be a fantastic boss.  But that’s my dream.  It certainly hasn’t been approved by people that are more powerful than me and who make those kinds of decisions.”

As a “promote from within” kind of girl, Kaling thinks having Wilson’s character take over will be easiest for the cast and the viewers.  ”It’s like the stand-up [expression]: The audience doesn’t want someone whose hand they haven’t sniffed,” said the actress.

Of course, if she (and many others) had her way Carell wouldn’t be leaving at all, but when faced with the options she’d rather have Wilson.  As a co-producer for the show she may actually have some pull to turn this “dream” into a reality, especially if she ends up winning the Emmy.  Obviously the girl can write well (the Jim/Pam wedding episode has been hailed as one of the best in the show’s history), so maybe she can write the job transition episode.

So what do you folks think?  Would Dwight Schrute be a suitable replacement?  Or are you hoping that Carell will still make that 11th hour change of heart like the cast is?

This morning the pop sensation took to Rockefeller Plaza to perform for a crowd of 20,000 people and The Today Show.  The rain came, bringing humidity with it, but that didn’t stop Gaga from dancing and writhing as she normally does.

She started out the mini-concert by serenading the crowd with Gershwin’s “Someone to Watch Over Me” before launching into her popular hit “Bad Romance.”  The singer looked almost normal in her high waisted white pants, white bra, and white studded blazer.

She took the time to speak with the Today hosts before jumping on stage again, commenting about the realities of fame and her new music.  ”There are certainly things that are difficult to deal with,” Gaga said. “But the kind of fame that I cherish is the relationship I have with my fans.”

Gaga performed “You and I,” a brand new song from her upcoming album, much to the delight of her fans.  The song featured the singer sitting alone at the piano before climbing on top of it for the rock ballad’s finale.

It started raining and Gaga took the time to change into a black outfit similar to the white one she wore previously.  She rocked the stage with her latest hit “Alejandro” just before it really started to pour.  Out came the umbrellas, but Gaga just took off her blazer and gave her fans another treat by closing her performance with “Teeth.”

You have to give it to the woman.  Dancing in stilettos is not small feat but doing it in the rain on a slippery walkway is praise worthy.  We’ve been needing the rain in this area of the country- who knew it took Lady Gaga performing in NYC to bring it?

Glee continued its juggernaut-like run through popular culture with an impressive 19 nominations including Outstanding Comedy, Lead Actress (Lea Michele), and Lead Actor (Matthew Morrison).  This puts Glee up against Emmy veteran 30 Rock and the hilarious new comedy Modern Family for Outstanding Comedy.

America’s sweetheart, Betty White, took her 20th nomination in the form of Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her hosting spot on Saturday Night Live.  If you remember, it took an amazing Facebook campaign to get the popular actress the guest spot she so rightly deserved after all these years.

The Outstanding Drama category looks to be interesting this year with all of the contenders having strong followings.  True Blood and Lost seem to be the most likely to win, but with Mad Men, Dexter, Breaking Bad, and The Good Wife also in the category, it could be anyone’s game.

There are so many talented actors and actresses up for Emmys, it’s hard to choose who I think would win.  Of course, I’d love to Gleek out and say Glee will take all of its nominations, but with Matthew Morrison up against Alec Baldwin and Tony Shalhoub I’m not so sure he’ll win.

All I can say is after Ricky Gervais’s performance last year, Jimmy Fallon will have some hilarious shoes to fill as the host.

Octavia Nasr knows this knowledge first hand.  The CNN Senior Editor of Mideast Affairs tweeted her sadness for the passing of a Hezbollah leader, saying, “Sad to hear of the passing of Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah.. One of Hezbollah’s giants I respect a lot. #Lebanon.”

Immediately she got backlash and thus backpedaled by explaining herself on the CNN blog.  ”Reaction to my tweet was immediate, overwhelming and a provides a good lesson on why 140 characters should not be used to comment on controversial or sensitive issues, especially those dealing with the Middle East.”  She praised Fadlallah for his support of women’s rights and his advice to Muslim men to not abuse their wives.  Unfortunately for Nasr, the damage was already done.  CNN executives had seen the tweet and made the announcement that the situation would be dealt with.  Wednesday, Nasr lost her job.

Parisa Khorsravi, senior vice president of CNN International Newsgathering, wrote a memo to the staff explaining the situation and Nasr’s departure.  They both agreed that Nasr should not have made such a simple tweet without explaining further, “however, at this point, we believe that her credibility in her position as senior editor for Middle Eastern affairs has been compromised going forward.”

Octavia Nasr started her career with CNN in 1990 and was an on-air and off-air analyst on Mideast affairs for a variety of CNN platforms.

Us Weekly first broke the news after interviewing Harris, who said, “I love him and I’m really sad, but I have to look out for me.”  Swiderski added, “We’re both kind of resetting.  Jillian isn’t happy and I’m definitely sad about the whole thing, but we’ve got to work through some things on our own if we decide to move forward.”

Last August was rough for Swiderski after his ex-girlfriend, Lindsey Johnson, and another woman, Bethany Steffen, both came to Us Weekly to say Swiderski was not true to Harris.  Apparently the wannabe Casanova was juggling both women while on the show, even going so far as to text Johnson saying Harris wasn’t his “type” and he preferred “all blondes.”  Johnson claimed she had slept with Swiderki not knowing he had proposed to Harris the day before.

AOL’s Popeater held a poll at the time the scandal broke and 77% of readers believed the couple would not make it to the alter.  Still, Harris stood by her man and said he had been open with her the whole time, saying the women’s claims were false.  I guess in the end it didn’t matter as the two have followed the long line of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette couples who have split after the cameras finished.

At least their break-up looked friendly, unlike the spectacle Jake and Vienna’s break-up has been.

Over the Independence Day weekend, Bieber was at the heart of a nasty YouTube attack.  Due to a scripting error, people were able to hack into the comments and redirect people to other videos, to porn sites, or give the viewer nasty pop-up windows when a video was clicked.  Bieber’s videos seemed to be the most effected in the attack, but the hacking was rather widespread all over YouTube.

It hasn’t really been determined if sites 4chan or eBaumsworld are behind the YouTube attack.  Both sites have less than stellar reputations- eBaumsworld has a tendency to post content from other sites without permission and 4chan is notorious for their hacks (they hacked Time’s 100 list in 2009 to put leader “Moot” at the top).  Speculation seems to go one way or the other, but the attack was nasty.  One example of the hack- Justin Bieber’s “Baby” video featuring Ludacris had a pop-up saying Justin Bieber had died in a horrific car accident and when refreshed had a background image of “OMG FA****” (I refuse to write that word).

Though the trend right now is to blame eBaumsworld, I’m leaning towards 4chan since they seem to have a lot of Bieber hate (they were behind the “Justin Bieber syphilis” search trend not long ago).  Bieber had a contest to have fans choose a country for him to visit during his “My World” tour and 4chan under the helm of “Anonymous” hacked the site.  This normally wouldn’t be a big deal, but for some reason the site wants to send Bieber to North Korea.  Since North Korea tightly controls all Internet access, it’s safe to say that the residents probably didn’t vote nor have they heard of the teen sensation.  This has sparked the search term “Justin Bieber hates North Korea,” since it’s likely that he will not be performing there.

So why is there so much Bieber hate?  I think it all boils down to his overexposure (the boy is everywhere) or that it’s possibly fun to poke at his rabid fan base.  Either way these attacks don’t seem to be killing his career, so hopefully it will all stop soon.
