Her father, Michael Lohan, has been charged with sexually harassing his fiancée, Kate Major. Well, I assume they’re not engaged anymore, so former fiancée.

Major filed a domestic violence report with the Southampton Town Police Department on Tuesday, July 20. It’s reported that a source close to Major said that Lohan was “out of control” during a fight on Monday, July 19.

The source confirmed that Lohan “took the ring back,” and then added that Major “feels safer he’s not around.

According to Major’s report, Lohan flipped over a couch—while Major was sitting on it—and then proceeded to kick her in the mouth and throw a shoe at her. Major says in an affidavit, “My left collarbone is sore and my right knee is scraped. After he kicked me he said, ‘I am going back to jail, because I’m going to kill you.’”

But, of course, Mr. Lohan blames it all on Major. His lawyer, Lisa Bloom, says, “Michael Lohan 100 percent denies each and every one of Kate Major’s allegations. He has never threatened to harm her, never assaulted her, and never physically abused her in any way. Kate was heavily intoxicated during the verbal argument between Michael and Kate in the early afternoon on Monday. Michael Lohan has been clean and sober for six years.”

I’m still not convinced.

Lohan will return to Long Island on August 18 for arraignment on this new count of second-degree harassment.

The hour-long, daily show will air on CBS and is nameless as of yet, but the hosts have signed on: Big Brother host Julie Chen, America’s Got Talent judge Sharon Osborne, the lovable Gilbert, Celebrity Apprentice contestant Holly Robinson Peete, Dancing with the Stars contestant Marissa Jaret Winokur, and The King of Queens actress Leah Remini.

This diverse group of women might just be enough to get me to tune in—and I’m not even a mom! The show will take a mother’s view of news and entertainment stories. All of the hosts are mothers, and they will bring their individuals views together.

In particular, Gilbert offers a provocative view of a lesbian mother raising two children with her partner Allison Adler. Gilbert also helped to develop the show and will even executive produce it.

I was a huge fan of Gilbert when she played the always-cynical Darlene on Roseanne, and I have a feeling that I’ll love her even more as she shares her own hilarious views on this show.

CBS, here’s one potential viewer you’ve just gained.

I guess I’m not as familiar with the world’s workings as I once thought.

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Nicole “Snooki” polizzi, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, and Paul “Pauly D” DelVecchio have officially won the battle against MTV. The four Jersey Shore reality stars will be making $30,000 per episode beginning next season. To think that these kids only made $5,000 per episode during the first season and only $10,000 per episode for the second season.

But what about the other castmates? Well, Vinny GuDagnino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, and Sammi Giancola will be making less money than their striking counterparts. And Angelina Pivarnick won’t even be around next season….but I don’t see that causing a lot of upset, for some reason.

But the big paycheck isn’t the only way that some of the reality show’s stars are making bank from their newfound stardom. Apparently, Pauly D pulls in a crapload of money during his DJ gigs (a source reports $80,000 a week), and Snooki earns up to $20,000 for personal appearances.

Gag me.

But Chris Isaak might just be the man for the job.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Isaak has met with American Idol producers twice already regarding possibly taking Cowell’s place as a judge on the show.

Fox insists that a decision doesn’t have to be reached immediately; however, no one can deny that the tenth season of Idol is looming, and America wants someone to sit in Cowell’s chair.

Fox’s new entertainment chairman confirms that the network expects the new judge to join the audition roadshow by September. But will it be Isaak, who boasts television credits including Chris Isaak Show and guest star appearances on Cold Case and Smallville?

Or another music industry hottie like Harry Connick Jr.? Personally, I’m rooting for Harry. I just love his smooth music and hot bod. Rawr.

Whoever Fox chooses, I have a feeling that the new judge will have a lot to live up to. Simon was the cynical heart of the show, and I know that I, for one, will have a hard time watching next season. I’ll just miss his snarky quips far too much.

Young reported that he turned down a variety of offers to adapt his book into film form. But it was Sorkin who won the author over. “He was the last thing I expected: very genuine, very down to earth and very unlike anyone else we worked with in Hollywood,” Young stated. “He was very caring and we have a couple of issues with trusting people with what we’ve been through.”

According to Young, the film may contain new details regarding the Edwards scandal. In an interview with True Hollywood Reporter, Young revealed that he was in a position to provide Sorkin with as-of-now unknown information that he kept out of The Politician: An Insider’s Account of John Edwards’s Pursuit of the Presidency and the Scandal That Brought Him Down. Wow. Couldn’t think of a shorter title, Young? Really?

Young elaborated, “There was a ton of stories I could have put in there but didn’t because I couldn’t prove it. That’s something we’re going to work through. There’s a whole other side of the story that’s never been told.”

My interest is, as they say, piqued.

Of course, the author didn’t provide any details as far as exactly what he’s talking about. What a tease.

And MTV is getting a little aggravated by the cast’s demands. In fact, one source reported to TMZ: “The show is not about famous rich people with managers coming to the Shore.” Indeed. It’s about a group of Italian-American drunks who like to go to the gym, do laundry, and go tanning.

MTV producers are getting so tired of the prima donna attitude of the show’s cast that they are thinking of cutting a few of the self-proclaimed “guidos and guidettes” loose. The only three cast members that they deem as truly necessary to the show are Snooki, The Situation, and Pauly D.

And now the cast is on strike. TMZ says, “The cast was supposed to begin shooting ‘at home’ scenes today for season three, but we’re told JWoww, Ronnie, Sammi, Pauly D and Vinny—who are spread out between New York and Rhode Island—told the crews they weren’t shooting without new contracts.”

I find it hard to sympathize with these kids. I mean, they get paid a crapload of money to go to bars, fist-pump the air, and drink loads of booze. Hell…I do that for free.

Running Wilde will reunite a slew of Arrested Development actors including Will Arnett and David Cross. The series focuses on a Beverly Hills douchebag named Steve (Arnett) who falls for a sweet hippie-type chick named Emmy (Keri Russell—welcome back, Felicity!). Too bad she despises him and everything he stands for. Emmy makes it her life’s goal to change Steve into a better person, and Steve makes it his goal to win Emmy over. I smell romance!

Cross will join the cast for seven episodes as the radical environmentalist fiancé of Emmy. The role was originally played by Andrew Daly.

After watching the show’s trailer, I am even more stoked. I actually laughed out loud several times. Arnett’s douchiness is dry and hilarious, and Russell’s sweet disposition is laced with a touch of sarcasm, which I find charming. And, for some reason, the quirky chemistry between the two characters seems to actually work.

Running Wilde is set to premiere on September 21 at 9:30 p.m. EST…and you can count on me watching it.

Earlier this year, it looked as if Anchorman 2 might be a reality…but not so now.

McKay stated, “It’s not happening, for sure, 100 percent. I’ll put it to bed. The only way it could come back [would be] in two years, three years, but to line everyone’s schedule up and to get everything done, and when it fell apart, to put that back together again, you’re still talking about waiting.”

But the sequel wouldn’t have been your ordinary movie. There would be no boring, regular dialogue during the film. McKay confirmed that it would have been a musical. He stated, “It was a musical. We were going to do four months on Broadway and then jump right into filming.”

While most people are, after learning that little fact, breathing a sigh of relief that a musical Anchorman 2 will not be happening, I’m a little bummed. I’m a big fan of comical musicals, and I think the Anchorman cast would nail a hilarious musical performance.

After watching the music video for “Afternoon Delight,” I just want more. And more. And more…

Even Kim Kardashian fell for the rumors. She tweeted earlier: “Omg!! Is @lindsaylohan dead?! I keep hearing these rumors from my friends n stuff!! Is it true?!” Wow. Nice use of exclamation points, Kim. But wait—was it really Kim? Nope. It was said to be a fake tweet.

And, just as Kim’s tweet was not her own, Lindsay’s death is nothing but a rumor.

But I do have juicy gossip that’s allegedly not a rumor: Lindsay is on suicide watch. According to a source that spoke with Star magazine, Lindsay would rather die than go to jail. The source stated, “She just kept repeating, ‘I can’t go to jail,’ and ‘I’ll kill myself first.’ She’s mentally unstable and getting worse…She ran around breaking mirrors, cutting herself and rambling like a lunatic. She tore her house apart before she finally just broke down. Lindsay’s on a 24/7 suicide watch, it’s so bad. She isn’t doing well with this.”

Yowza.

Fans of The Hills were given a huge “shock” during the final moments of the series finale on Tuesday, July 13. They watched as Kristin Cavallari and Brody Jenner had an emotional good-bye, where Kristin allegedly was off to Europe to get in touch with herself.

But as Brody stood on an empty street watching her go, the cameras panned out, and the illusion was forever broken: Brody stood in a Hollywood lot with camera crews surrounding him…and Kristin’s car was parked several feet away. She came out of her car, hugged Brody, and that was the end of the reality show that had engrossed fans for six seasons.

I, for one, am not shocked. At all.

Brody even told fans on the after show that it was up to them to decide what was really real and what was really scripted. After all, it wasn’t all fake. Heidi and Spencer did get legally married. And I’m sure not all of the relationships were scripted.

But I have to bow my head to producers for taking the jump and letting the world know that those lovable, catty folks from The Hills are actors. And I have to chuckle at all of those fans who didn’t realize they were watching drama…not reality.

I am totally addicted to this show. I understand that sometimes the dialogue might be a little lacking, and the acting could use some work…but I’m still addicted. On tonight’s episode, some of the girls’ ugly secrets come out, complicating the school’s homecoming dance. One girl’s date choice may make her life a little more difficult. And who’s

performing at the dance? 2AM Club…and no, I have no idea who they are.

Warehouse 13 (9:00 p.m. EST, Syfy)

Myka (Joanne Kelly) and Pete (Eddie McClintock) must go to Detroit after a vigilante that at first seems indestructible begins using extraordinary methods to thwart criminals. Elsewhere, Leena (Genelle Williams), Artie (Saul Rubinek), and Claudia (Allison Scagliotti) try to move on from the past while making the warehouse a little less crappy.

Covert Affairs (10:00 p.m. EST, USA)

Tonight is the premiere of this series, and it kicks off with CIA trainee Annie Walker (the cute-as-a-button Piper Perabo) as she received a promotion as a field agent. However, her agency bosses quite possibly have an ulterior motive for the unexpected promotion. A military-intelligence agent who was blinded in the field (Christopher Gorham) gives Annie a hand.

The Squad: Prison Police focuses on eight special agents whose job is to respond to and look into major crimes that occur in the Tennessee Prison system. These crimes can range from murder and assaults to drugs and organized crime.

The special agents that are the heart of the show represent the police force to those incarcerated in Tennessee Prison. They must act as detectives, CSI and SWAT in order to solve prison crimes and enforce justice. Must be a tough job, but I guess someone’s got to do it (I’m just glad it’s not me).

Each show’s episode will focus on one primary case from beginning to finish as team members investigate the crime and do their best to bring the wrongdoers to justice. I wonder how many of these cases will end up as being “unsolved”…

I have a feeling that my husband is going to love this show. After the many hours of Gangland and Lockdown that I’ve been subjected to, I can add The Squad onto our DVR list for sure.

Allison Coss, 24, claims that John Stamos tried to get her drunk in order to have sex with her. Wait a minute—didn’t I just read another old dude using drugs to nail a younger woman? Thought so.

But what’s the big deal, right? It’s pretty common for guys to try to get chicks in their twenties liquored up in order to have sex.

Ah—here’s the fine print. Coss claims that this inappropriate behavior happened in 2004, when she was a mere girl of 17. Coss and Stamos allegedly met in 2004, shortly after Stamos and Rebecca Romign separated.

During opening statements on Monday, July 12, defense attorney Sarah Henderson said that two female strippers showed up at the actor’s hotel room with a baggie full of cocaine. Coss and her friend allegedly took a picture of Stamos stuffing his beak. Later, it’s reported that Stamos and the young Coss kissed and partied in the hot tub. Apparently, Stamos offered to perform oral sex on Coss, but he was rejected. The actor allegedly got irritated and broke a bedpost before apologizing and then asking Coss to spend the night.

Mood swings much?

So what’s the big deal? Nothing happened other than illegal drug use…right? So why is this coming up now?

Well, because someone calling himself “Brian L” texted Stamos, demanding a load of cash—or else the photo of the actor hanging out with coke would be released to the press. Stamos contacted the FBI, and Coss and her sidekick Scott Sippola were arrested.

No photos of Stamos posing with cocaine have been found, but now Coss is claiming that she and the actor had a romantic, sexual relationship. Teenagers.

Australian-born and London-based rapper N’Fa and Ledger were childhood friends, so it only made sense that they would collaborate creatively. Ledger directed N’Fa’s first music video for his song “Cause an Effect”. Ledger filmed the video in his garage not long before his death. N’Fa said, “Heath loved the song, and wanted to make a video that artistically married itself to the energy of the track, to indulge listeners and viewers alike. At the end of the day though, it was two old friends hangin’ out doing what we love. Good times.”

However, the rapper was hesitant to release the video. He said, “We had intended on releasing it a long, long time ago. But I didn’t feel comfortable doing so after Heath died. But friends and family said it needed to be seen. Heath loved it.”

And the actor’s not the only one. I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the music video—it’s a visually stunning video that perfectly compliments the song. Watch it below and try to tell me it isn’t amazing.

And now he’s ready to impress us again with his new upcoming series, All Signs of Death. The series is based on Charlie Huston’s novel The Mystic Arts of Erasing All Signs of Death. Boy, that’s a mouthful.

The story focuses on a twenty-something man who discovers his talent as a crime scene cleaner. And, of course, everything becomes chaos.

Ball will act as executive producer and director, and author Huston will write the plot. I love it that Ball is collaborating with Huston—I always think that an author should be totally involved if his or her work is translated to film or television.

Ball says of the project: “All Signs has a hard noir feel, but it’s also ironic; it’s graphic and gritty but human and very moving at the same time—it is able to capture all those elements in a very distinctive tone…We’re going to try to go against the grain, away from the overlit, stylized noir for a more frantic, contemporary, naturalistic style.”

If Ball wasn’t gay, I’d pursue him just to get an insider’s look at that mind of his. And no, I don’t mean I’d stalk him…I’d just make him fall in love with me and share all of his secrets. Mwahahaha!

Now, ten months later, the Swiss government has rejected the U.S.’s request to extradite Polanski back to California in order to face the charge that he fled by leaving the country in 1977. Are you as curious as I am? You want to know the specifics of the charge, don’t you? Polanski, then 44, was charged with having sex with a 13-year-old girl. Gross.

The Swiss Justice Ministry stated, “The 76-year-old French-Polish film director Roman Polanski will not be extradited to the U.S.A. The freedom-restricting measures against him have been revoked. He’s a free man.”

Polanski was initially indicted on six felonies including sodomy, child molesting, and rape by the use of drugs. The director pled guilty on one count of unlawful sexual intercourse and participated in 42 days of a 90-day psychiatric evaluation, after which he was declared unlikely to be a repeat offender. However, the judge that was overseeing the case threatened to make Polanski see out his 90 days—in jail. The director fled the country the night before his sentence was to be announced.

The Ministry has stated that the 42 days Polanski served was “adequate for the crime based on the testimony given by the psychiatrist evaluating Polanski,” E! News reported.

Throughout all of this, all I can think about is how disgusted I am at the thought of a 44-year-old man having sex with a 13-year-old girl. For shame.

Pekar is best known for his connection with American Splendor, which was made into a film starring Paul Giamatti in 2003. Pekar began publishing the comics in 1976; the story chronicled the writer’s dissatisfaction regarding money, work, and the monotony of daily life. He took the “boring” details of his own life and combined them with the real-life characters that filled up his life. The result was a series of comic books that, according to The New York Times, “could include everyday feelings of anxiety and disappointment as easily as it does the adventures of costumed heroes.”

Pekar was found by his wife at approximately 1:00 a.m. on July 12. It was noted that Pekar had been suffering from depression, asthma, high blood pressure, and prostate cancer. His battle with lymphatic cancer was documented in the writer’s graphic novel Our Cancer Year.

As of yet, no details are available regarding Pekar’s death; an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

That’s right. Ochocinco (who has the most ridiculous name ever—his jersey number is 85, and it’s apparent that Chad isn’t fluent in Spanish…otherwise he would have changed his name to Ochenta y cinco) is the star of VH1’s newest reality dating show.

Ochocinco will be joined by Vikings wide receiver Bernard Berrian during his dating show, Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch, which debuted Sunday, June 11. The premise? Pro athlete Ochocinco is trying to find the girl of his dreams—out of a group of 85 women (how cutesy—85 women for Ochocinco). In the opening episode, the group is pared down to 17 potential mates. Berrian provided his own opinions to help his fellow athlete out.

I’m wondering how long this travesty will stay on the air…and I’m hoping it won’t be too long. Because I have a hard time believing that Chad Ochocinco has a hard time with the ladies—he is an athlete. Duh.

On tonight’s episode, the team does its best to get their hands on a gunman who’s shooting inside a historic arena. The case causes Sam (David Paetkau) to wonder if he should really be on the team or not.

Say Yes to the Dress (9:00 p.m. EST, TLC)

Bride-to-be Catherine is using “Egyptian Barbie” as her fashion inspiration for her wedding. What a weirdo. Meanwhile, soon-to-be bride Kerry has her sights set on a $21,000 Pnina Tornai Gown and bride Jessica tries to find a dress that will compliment her fairy wings. Where do people come up with this stuff?

The Hills: From the Beginning (10:00 p.m. EST, MTV)

As the iconic reality series gets closer to its conclusion, we all get a chance to watch a recap of the show. Watch Lauren Conrad’s journey from Laguna Beach to Los Angeles, and relive all of the stand-out moments from the show, including Audrina’s rocky path to finding love, Heidi’s creepy plastic surgery transformation, and Kristin’s arrival to The Hills.

Dual Survival (10:00 p.m. EST, DSC)

On tonight’s episode, follow the hosts as they play out a lost-hiker scenario in the thick jungles of Laos. And what do they have with them? Backpackers’ supplies including condoms, a camera, and cigarettes. How will they get out of this one?

President of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Jarrett Barrios stated that the organization learned of the exclusion and immediately issued a “call to action” to GLAAD members. He said, “We’re thrilled that Today show’s ‘Modern Wedding Contest’ now recognizes what most fair-minded Americans have already concluded—a wedding celebrates love and commitment, whether the spouses are straight or gay. NBC heart GLAAD and the thousands of viewers who contacted them. And they have moved to make their contest a truly modern wedding where any couple can share their story.”

NBC said that the contest was previously closed to homosexual couples because same-sex wedding aren’t legal in New York. However, GLAAD argued the point, saying that same-sex couples could obtain a marriage license elsewhere in the country and still marry in New York, since the state recognizes marriage licenses granted in other jurisdictions.

I have always been a supporter of the legalization of same-sex marriages, so I am pleased by this news. I see it as a sign that we are on the right path, the path to equal rights.

Baldwin spoke about his future plans and current passions in an interview with CNN. He said, “As much as I like acting, I know that I would love to have a different life. A private life…I think that doing this now for a living has become really, really hard. I would rather go do other things, and [with] whatever amount of time I have left in my life, have a normal life.”

The long-time actor looked pretty sad uttering the above words, and it may be the first time I’ve seen Alec Baldwin come across as purely sincere and genuine.

It makes perfect sense to me, Alec. While so many of us dream about a life of fame and celebrity, we don’t think about what all comes along with it. When I do think about those things, I am thankful for my little, semi-normal life. But rest assured that your fans will certainly miss your shining face.

Geez…first Steve Carell leaving The Office…now Alec Baldwin leaving 30 Rock. What’s next? Amy Poehler leaving Community?!

One circumstance that comes to mind is the following: ABC’s Modern Family has a 50% chance of landing an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy. This is pretty crazy. The reason is that three of the six actors nominated are actors on the show. There’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who plays attorney Mitchell Pritchett; Eric Stonestreet, who plays Pritchett’s over-the-top partner Cameron Tucker; and Ty Burrell, who plays the dad. These three gentlemen should be very proud of themselves, as should all of the forces behind Modern Family.

A few other mentionable surprises were Matthew Fox (Lost) and Michael C. Hall (Dexter), both nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. I say that these two nominations are surprising, but not because they are undeserved. Quite the contrary: these two actors gave some of the best performances of the decade, in my humble opinion. I loved both shows, both characters, and both performances…so I guess you can tell which two guys I’ll be crossing my fingers for.

Also, Friday Night Lights was awarded with a ton of Emmy nominations: Connie Britton finally got her Emmy nod for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series; Kyle Chandler got a nomination for Oustanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Also, the series is up for Oustanding Casting for a Drama Series.

And, then there were the nominations that didn’t surprise me one bit. Steve Carell for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (The Office), Edie Falco for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (Nurse Jackie), and Julianna Margulies for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Dramatic Series (The Good Wife) come to mind.

In conclusion, I’d like to say a big congratulations to all those that were nominated.

Life in a Day has been labeled a “historic cinematic experiment” that has an interesting concept. On July 24, anyone with time, creativity, and a video camera can film and then submit their footage via YouTube in the hopes that it will be included in the feature documentary.

The documentary’s tagline, “One World. 24 Hours. 6 Billion Perspectives,” is sure to gather some intrigue…I know that I, for one, am certainly interested in where this cinematic journey will take us.

Macdonald stated, “It’ll be kind of like a time capsule, which people in the future…could look at and say, ‘Oh my god. That’s what it was like.’”

He then goes on to say that those of you interested in taking on the task should focus on three questions: What makes you laugh? What do you love? What do you fear most?

Come on, guys. I know you’re got it in you. Make cinematic history with me.

Most of the time, I would read a headline such as the one for this blog post and say, “Oh, boo-hoo. So Lindsay Lohan’s going to jail. Whoopi-dee-doo.” But today, I watched the video of the sentence being handed down, and I hate to say it, but…I feel kind of bad for LiLo.

See if you can sit through the video below without feeling some sort of pity for the actress. I sure couldn’t.

About 20 seconds in, Lohan breaks down and begins sobbing hysterically. The judge continues to announce the sentence of 90 days in jail and 90 days probation while Lohan looks around frantically, wondering if there’s any way for her to get out of it. That’s right: 30 days on her reckless driving charge, 30 days for her first DUI case, and 30 days for her second DUI case.

Oh, Lindsay. Maybe you shouldn’t have been driving drunk in 2007. And maybe you shouldn’t have violated your parole from the aforementioned DUI conviction.

Don’t know what I’m talking about? Get with the program. Lohan has been on probation for her 2007 DUI conviction for months now, wearing a SCRAM anklet. However, the actress consumed alcohol, violating her parole and putting her in the sticky situation she’s currently in.

Lohan must surrender to the court on July 20 to serve her time. But part of me thinks that she won’t be serving the full 90 days…what do you think?

But don’t expect to see her made-up face or feminine dress to make a comeback any time soon. “That was fun, but it was very cold out,” Kelly said of the shoot.

Kelly is the only female truck driver on the show, and this may be one of the main reasons that the photo shoot got such a reaction out of viewers (and non-viewers). “I don’t know what other people are gonna think,” she said. “It’s interesting to put a woman’s twist on [the show] and if that’s how I’m perceived, well, it’s not up to me.”

The show is in the middle of its second season, and Kelly just spent a couple of months hauling cement in the Himalayas, which is the setting for the upcoming season. “The trucks [in India] are different,” Kelly stated. “They’re not as big and not very powerful at all, which added to the danger factor.”

It’s nice to see a woman show that she can get dolled up and look sexy but can also get down and dirty and work her tail off. Kudos from this woman to you, Lisa Kelly!
