Are we sure Survivor isn’t turning into I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! ?
Former Dallas Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson is apparently part of the cast of Survivor: Nicaragua, which is currently filming. Johnson, who is 67 years old and known for his perfect/immobile hair, will be fighting against an currently unnamed cast to keep his torch lit.
CBS is neither confirming nor denying Johnson’s involvement in the show, stating they don’t comment on casting speculations. However, Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas broke the news of the legend’s casting, citing an unnamed source. Johnson will be the second Cowboy to take part in the show’s run. Former Cowboys quarterback Gary Hogeboom was a contestant on Survivor: Guatemala, where he finished in seventh place.
Since the show has only a brief filming schedule (39 days), Johnson will be back in plenty of time to take part in his job as an analyst for FOX’s NFL pre-game show.
Johnson, who lead the Cowboys to two Super Bowl wins in the 1990s, has been with FOX since 2000.
The rumor is we should expect to see an announcement by CBS about the rest of the cast members announced mid-August. The twist this season is supposedly going to be pitting the under 30 crowd against the older contestants.
