When I heard that David Fincher (Fight Club) was going to be directing a movie about the founding of Facebook, I was irritated. I’m on Facebook for hours a day—it’s literally always up in the background. I just don’t want to miss anything. But my point is—I have enough Facebook in my life. Why would I want to devote an hour or two of my time to watching a movie about it?

So I finally sat down and watched the teaser trailer for the film, The Social Network. I figured I should at least give it a shot before I go making judgements.

That’s one minute and eleven seconds that I can never get back. The only action in the trailer is a slew of words that appear on the screen: punk, genius, prophet, traitor, billionaire, you don’t get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies.

And then the face of Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland), who portrays Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg, fills the screen. All the while, characters are talking in the background in very hurried voices.

And I watched it all. But I was bored the entire time.

So, in conclusion, chances are that I will not be checking out The Social Network…will you?
