The upcoming lunar eclipse on June 26 is the perfect reason to celebrate the Twilight saga, and Summit Entertainment and Moviefone are doing just that. Not only is this the perfect excuse to get outdoors and watch a movie under the stars, but it’s just in time for the release of the third film in the series, the appropriately titled Eclipse, which hits theatres on June 30.
Dubbed “Twilight Night,” the twelve-city event is encouraging viewers new to the films to gather with fans in the community for an outdoor viewing. Along with film-viewing, Moviefone.com will stream live events from Philadelphia and San Diego, including interviews with cast members, fan-based trivia and exclusive sneak peeks of Eclipse before it releases.
Cities participating in the event include Dallas, Atlanta, Denver, Miami, Philadelphia, Portland, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, St.
Louis, Seattle, San Diego and Washington D.C. Doors will open at each venue at 6 PM, and admission will be on a first come first serve basis. Details on venue and time may be subject to change, so make sure you visit the official Eclipse movie website for updates before attending.
With the Twilight Saga gripping the attention of teens and adults all over the nation, this is a great way to connect with fellow fans in your community. If Philadelphia weren’t such a long distance drive from home, I’d take my own daughter to the Pennsylvania event. Unfortunately, my imagination is already envisioning this massive event coated in chaos, and brimming with out-of-towners, especially with July 4 just around the corner.
