On Sunday, August 15, at 10:00 p.m. EST, Comedy Central Roast of David Hasselhoff premieres.
Television icon David Hasselhoff has had his share of ridiculous things happen to him over the years. There was his outrageously bad music video (if you haven’t seen this bad boy, I beg you to watch it), his never-ending problems with alcohol, his questionable parenting methods, and now he will get roasted on national television. And I’m sure even more Hasselhoff goofs will be mentioned during the Roast.
Senior vice president of talent and specials for Comedy Central Elizabeth Porter stated, “David Hasselhoff is a worldwide celebrity who has and continues to entertain audiences around the globe.
By the end of this year’s Roast, this pop culture icon will surely see that no slow motion run or life preserver can save him.” Ha—nice Baywatch reference there.
The actor said, “I’m honored that Comedy Central is going to get ‘Hoff’ on me. I have always been a major fan of Roasts, dating back to the days of the Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts. Laughter is the best medicine. Bring it on! I’m ready to take the heat.”
Good! At least he has a positive attitude about this. Because there will be plenty of laughs, David…but we’ll be laughing at you, not with you.
