Mark Wahlberg stopped to talk with MTV’s Josh Horowitz Sunday night on the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards. During their conversation, Wahlberg expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming seventh season of Entourage, which kicks off on HBO June 27 in the 10:30 PM time slot.
Horowitz also prodded Wahlberg about his plans for an Entourage film, to which Wahlberg replied, “I think we’re going to do it.”
Though Wahlberg, who admits to being more excited about making the Entourage film than he is about acting in his own movies, doesn’t even have a tentative date in mind, he did say it would most likely occur after the wrap-up of the show. The final season is set to drop sometime next year, at which time they can shift focus toward the film.
Wahlberg said the plan was to release six episodes next year, ending on a bang that leaves viewers wondering how Ari Gold and his associate, Lloyd, wound up in Vegas. The film would pick up where the series left off, shedding light on events in the final season.
There is also some talk of HBO splitting the upcoming season seven into two parts, extending the amount of time they can keep the show on the air, but frankly, this whole mid-season finale thing is really starting to tick me off.
Make more shows, networks, and stop stretching the ones you have so thin, or else.
