I’m not quite sure why Tom Cruise has brought his Les Grossman character back into play. Perhaps all the minor controversy that surfaced over the last five years in relation to things like his marriage to Katie Holmes and his weird interview with Oprah Winfrey, has him itching for a way to prove to fans and viewers his sense of humor is still an important part of who he is.

Cruise/Grossman tied himself pretty tight to the 2010 MTV Movie Awards this year. Not only did he appear in a promotional spot with Robert Pattinson, but also arrived in style as part of the awards show’s entertainment roster.

In full fat suit and hideously grotesque suspender-boosted outfit, the balding Grossman danced onto the stage hip-hop style with a hot host of backup dancers.

Mid-routine, everyone’s favorite bootie-mama, Jennifer Lopez, rose from the smoke to challenge Grossman to a dance off.

I swear, Grossman grabbed J. Lo’s butt at one point, but the camera quickly panned away before I could confirm it.

I have to say, I haven’t been a big Tom Cruise fan since that one movie he did in the 80s he refuses to talk about. You know, the one called Legend, but I kind of like this icky Les Grossman character. He reminds me of my pervy uncle from Brooklyn.
