SyFy, the channel that brought us Ghost Hunters, has now given the green light to three new shows- Marcel’s Quantum Kitchen, Paranormal Witness, and Face off.  All three shows will be reality based programming.

Marcel’s Quantum Kitchen will star Marcel Vigneron, a molecular gastronomist and runner up on the 2006 season of Top Chef.  Each episode will feature Marcel and the staff of his new catering company making interesting and new creations, from the food to the celebration itself.  Using the client’s ideas, Marcel creates gatherings the guests will never forget.  The show is a production of Intuitive Entertainment and is executive produced by Kevin Dill and Mechelle Collins.

Paranormal Witness is brought to us by the same team that thought up Locked Up Abroad, Dimitri Doganis and Bart Layton.

The docu-drama will bring to life stories from folks who have lived through actual paranormal phenomena- from poltergeists to alien encounters.  The show is a production of Raw TV and executive produced by Doganis and Layton.

Finally, Face Off will be a competition/elimination show that delves deeper into the world of special effects make-up artists.  The show will feature artists using their imaginations to create living art with prosthetics, 3-D design, animatronics, sculpting, eye enhancers, puppeteering, casting and molding along with other mediums.  Each week, the artists will reveal their work to a panel of judges who will ultimately send one contestant packing each week.  Face Off is a production of Mission Control Media. Executive Produced by Michael Agbabian and Dwight Smith.

Do any of these shows peak your interest?  I watched Marcel in Top Chef and found him to be quite annoying, but the show premise sounds interesting.  Face Off seems the most interesting to me and I love seeing what others can create art wise!  There’s no launch dates available on these shows as of yet, but I’ll keep my eye out!
