Yet another attempt to ride the cash cow that was the original Lost Boys film is in the works. Lost Boys: The Thirst is on its way to the big screen, and the makers are saying it will be much bigger than the second attempt, Lost Boys: The Tribe, that released straight to DVD in 2008.
Frog Brother, Corey Feldman, returns to the series, which at this point isn’t enough to convince me to watch it. Especially not on the big screen. Apparently, Feldman is also an executive producers for the film, which was shot in South Africa. That isn’t making me want to watch it either.
The Thirst promises to have more blood, nudity, scars, violence and natural-looking vampires.
Does that mean they’re going to sparkle like Edward Cullen?
As much as I’m going to choke on my own vomit when this happens, I’m going to say right now they should probably just turn it into a television series. It would sit well with mediocre shows like The Vampire Diaries and the upcoming ABC series The Gates.
The premise of the movie seems like a blended, cheese-filled rip-off of True Blood and the Blade series. With a big wig vampire selling “vamp blood” as the next big drug, he’s converting an army of vampires in attempt to take over the world.
Yawn and stretch.
