With the brand new MacGruber movie hitting the big screen on Friday, it’s easy to forget the original series that made it possible.

Macgyver was a popular ABC action show that ran from 1985 to 1992. It started Richard Dean Anderson as the titular character, a secret agent who never used a gun. Instead, he became famous for fashioning solutions to problems (be it traps, bombs, etc.) out of everyday items. Really, that was only a small part of the show, but when you say the word “Macgyver” now, that’s what everyone thinks of.

It then was spoofed by Saturday Night Live and Will Forte and the rest is history.

So, to celebrate the new movie based on a television skit and the old TV show at the same time, we’re giving away a free copy of the first season of Macgyver. Want it? read on.
