Last fall, James Franco had a guest role on the daytime soap opera General Hospital.  He returns next month to reprise that role and turn Port Charles upside down.

Franco’s character (named “Franco” for some reason) is a performance artist that terrorized the residents of Port Charles with bombs and veiled threats.  According to People.com, “After a two-month stint last fall on General Hospital, the actor returns next month, continuing his ‘obsessive vendetta,’ leaving a ‘tangled web of clues’ for his pursuers and taking townspeople on an alliterative ‘wild ride of mystery, music, murder and mayhem.’ ‘The hospital,’ producers say in a statement, ‘will be in peril.’ ”

Franco seems pretty excited about his second round on the show.

”Working on General Hospital was a great experience. I love the cast, writers, directors and producers.  They have become a new family for me. I can’t wait for the work we will do this summer,” said Franco.

The folks at General Hospital seem to feel the same about the situation.   “We are so thrilled to welcome James back to General Hospital,” Executive Producer Jill Farren Phelps said in a statement. “We had such a great time with him and are very excited that he decided to return to Port Charles to take care of unfinished business.”

It looks to be an interesting summer for daytime television!
