It’s rapidly approaching—the series finale of Lost, arguably the best cult series that’s hit our television screens in a long, long time. And with the upcoming finale, late night show David Letterman can’t help but ask various cast members about how the complex show will end. Remember when he asked Evangeline Lilly about the ending? My point exactly.

Now it’s time for him to grill Matthew Fox, who plays Jack on the show, about how the series will conclude. Letterman reiterates that, as he told Evangeline, he will only accept Lost ending as a dream. That’s right—a dream. David Letterman wants the past six years of Lost to be all a silly dream that played in Jack Shephard’s head.

“The only way this show will make any sense is if someone goes, ‘Wake up, wake up.’ And you go, ‘oh, oh, we’re landing in Cincinnati.’ I will accept nothing other than that,” the late night show insists.

Fox laughed it off and said, “You might be the only person in the world to have nailed it on the head.” But, thankfully, he insisted that the series will not end with it all being a dream.
