This weekend was a lovely one! So what news broke while everyone was outside enjoying it?
Poor Alyssa Milano. The former Charmed actress has recently starred in a new comedy on ABC called Romantically Challenged. The show barely had its horse out of the gate when Entertainment Weekly announced that ABC had canceled the show. Milano immediately contacted the network who said a decision had not been finalized yet. Milano has now turned to her fans through twitter, asking them to call the network and leave messages to save the show, saying, “CALL in your message of support for #RomanticallyChallenged at 818-460-7477 follow the voice prompts.”
Another show that is trying to be saved is the recently canceled Law & Order.
This would have been the show’s 20th season, beating out Gunsmoke for the longest running drama on television (The Simpsons has the record for longest scripted series). As a result of the cancellation, fans of the show have rallied together in an attempt to save the show. ”We need to band together to help save this classic show! Where would we be with out Sam Waterston and S. Epatha Merkerson!” reads the description on the Facebook page that already has over 15,000 fans. Click here to join the protest.
A former television chef is in severely hot water after allegedly recruiting three homeless men to kill his wife. Juan Carlos Cruz, former host of Food Network’s Calorie Commando, was held on $5 million bail after the homeless men contacted authorities saying Cruz wanted them to kill his wife. TMZ announced they had gotten their hands on text messages from Cruz to the homeless men, arguing about the method of payment (ten $100 bills ripped in half- get half of the bills up front, other half after she was dead) and where to meet to discuss the plan. As of right now Cruz plans on pleading not guilty at his arraignment.
Well that’s all for this week! Tune in next Monday to find out what happened while you were busy during the weekend!
