You know, you can say what you want about Twitter, but it’s really the most exciting place in the world. Where else can you stalk celebrities like the paparazzi (no photos please…) and get the inside scoop, tweet by tweet, all day long? And the cool thing is, you know whether or not they’re the real deal because Twitter puts that little check at the top of their account marked “Verified Account.” I want a verified account, damn it. What do I have to do to get one?
Now that I have veered off the mark before we’ve even gotten started on this beautiful and sunny Shaturday, let’s get our shovels out and dig into the Shat.
I follow William Shatner on Twitter because I’m obviously in desperate need of a life.
He tweets pretty regularly, so it’s fun to see what he has to say, and get this: he signs every one of his tweets “My Best, Bill.” How polite is that?
Not a lot has been going on in the world of Shatner this week since the announcement of his upcoming BIO channel show, but he said something interesting on Twitter Tuesday to @TheRealNimoy.
“Come out of “retirement” @TheRealNimoy. I got an exciting record I’m working on. You’d be perfect to add another voice to it. My best, Bill.”
Anyone who knows anything about the exciting Kirk and Spock duo, knows they both sing. For example, here’s an exciting Lord of the Rings tribute to Bilbo Baggins by Leonard Nimoy, followed by The Shat singing “It Was a Very Good Year.”
If you can draw your eyes away from that riveting bit of insanity, here’s a note. I scoured YouTube and Google for half an hour, and cannot find a single instance of the two of them singing together. How has this not happened? Am I missing something? If you know of such a thing, by all means, hook a sister up, yo!
While I have no idea if The Shat is serious about having an exciting album he wants to record with Nimoy, it is definitely something the world needs. Say it in your Kirk voice with me. The…world…needs…a…Spock…and…Kirk…duet.
Should we start a petition? Where would we send it?
William Shatner, if you’re reading this (and I know you are, how could you not be?) tell me what to do to make it happen. I would bribe Leonard Nimoy with food, but it seems you’ve already tried that to no avail. We…must…make…this…happen.

The Shat and his boy Leonard.. what a cool idea. They could do a rap, sing a ballad duet.. oh the possibilities!
