Laura Bell Bundy and Evan Farmer announced the 2010 CMT Music Awards on Tuesday, May 11th on PeopleTV. Watch the video announcement here.
This awards show is unique in the fact that it’s the only fan-voted awards show in the country music genre. So it makes sense that country music fans across the nation would be eagerly awaiting the announcement of the nominees.
With three nominations each, Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Carrie Underwood, and Taylor Swift led the group of nominees. During the PeopleTV video, Bundy and Farmer went on to list the nominees for the top five categories including Male Video of the Year, Female Video of the Year, Group Video of the Year, Duo Video of the Year, and USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year.
And surprise, surprise—Laura Bell Bundy, who is co-announcing the nominees, is herself nominated for one of the five major categories.
If you’re interested in seeing all of the nominations, they are now listed on the CMT website.
There are tons of great musicians hoping to walk away with an award, and it’s up to the fans to decide who will win and who will lose. Fans have until June 8th to visit the CMT website and cast their votes.
The 2010 Country Music Television Music Awards will air at 8:00 p.m. EST on CMT. Kid Rock will be the host of the show (yeah…that part kind of confused me, too).
