With the rumors of current shows such as FlashForward being cancelled, it’s a relief to hear about new shows being picked up. NBC announced on May 7th that the network has picked up three new series for the 2010-2011 season.

The Event is a dramatic conspiracy thriller focused on Sean Walker (Jason Ritter), a man investigating the disappearance of his fiancée, Leila (Sarah Roemer). Through his investigations, Sean begins to uncover the biggest conspiracy in the nation’s history. The show will also star Scott Patterson (Gilmore Girls), Laura Innes (ER), and Blair Underwood (Dirty Sexy Money).

The second series is the comedic Outsourced, which follows an American company that sells foam fingers, bacon wallets, whoopee cushions, and other novelty items.

All is well until the call center is outsource to India and Todd Dempsey (Ben Rappaport), the new manager, is transferred to India to oversee the operation. Eastern world, meet the mid-west and all of the lovely pop culture that goes along with it.

Finally, NBC has picked up the romantic comedy Love Bites, which focuses on Annie (Becki Newton) and Frannie (Jordana Spiro), the last two single ladies in their circle of friends. How will the two women cope with their singledom? With humor, of course. Some guest stars for this series include Jennifer Love Hewitt (Ghost Whisperer), Craig Robinson (The Office), and Lindsay Price (Lipstick Jungle).
