Elisabeth Hasselbeck Apologizes to Erin Andrews

The ladies on The View are known for their snippy, snarky quips. But Elisabeth Hasselbeck went a little too far when she criticized Dancing with the Stars’ competitor Erin Andrews for her skimpy outfits on the show.

For those of you who aren’t in “the know,” Andrews recently had a traumatic run-in with a stalker who released nude footage of the celebrity on the Internet. The stalker was sentenced to 30 months in jail in March of this year.

On Tuesday, May 4th, Hasselbeck commented on The View that because of the stalker incident, she didn’t think Andrews should be dancing wearing “next to nothing” on the celebrity dancing show.

She said, “In light of what happened and as illegal and as inexcusable as it was for that horrific guy to go in and try to peep on her in her hotel room…In some ways, if I’m him, I just could’ve waited 12 weeks and seen this (pointing to photos of Andrews on DWTS), a little bit less, without the prison time.” Wow. Way to go overboard about what is certainly a sensitive subject to Andrews.

According to Access Hollywood, Andres cried when she heard Hasselbeck’s comments. I don’t blame her! They would have hurt my feelings, also.

But, to give Hasselbeck a smidge of credit, she reportedly called Andrews to personally apologize about the inappropriate comments. She also made a public announcement on The View on Wednesday, May 5th.

So, Hasselbeck—have you ever heard the old adage “think before you speak”? No? Well, maybe you should abide by it.
