Remember a couple of weeks ago when I mentioned Precious actress, Gabourey Sidibe was going to be on Saturday Night Live? There was some question from the peanut gallery on whether or not Sidibe had what it takes to amuse, especially given the delicate and intense nature of her character in her first major film role.

I’m not going to lie. I missed the full SNL episode on Saturday night, but I did wake up Monday morning wondering if I missed anything good. The buzz around the net in regards to Sidibe’s appearance seems to be revolving around a short called “The Cherry Battle,” and if it’s any indication as to the rest of the episode, I’m going to assume I didn’t miss much.

One can only hope that’s not the funniest thing she did while on the show. Facing off and spitting cherries back and forth isn’t exactly on my list of super funny things that make me laugh. I think the cleverest part was giving one of the cherries a face, but even that wasn’t as funny as Annoying Orange. I mean, at least he tells jokes, even if they are really bad ones.

I’ll have to catch the full episode on Hulu, but like I said, if this is any indication of the humor they cooked up, I’m seriously thinking I might just pass.
