The title character in Dexter may seem immortal, but the actor who portrays him is not. Michael C. Hall has been battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma for months, but, according to his wife Jennifer Carpenter (who happens to play the role of his sister in Dexter), the actor has fully recovered.
Carpenter reported on Friday, April 23rd, that Hall is in full recovery from Hodgkin’s lymphoma and that he was “incredibly brave” when he announced that he was going through treatment for cancer in January of this year. At the time, Hall reported, “I feel fortunate to have been diagnosed with an imminently treatable and curable condition, and I thank my doctors and nurses for their expertise and care.” Hodgkin’s lymphoma is a cancer that attacks the lymph nodes and can be fatal…pretty much like any other cancer.
Hall has returned to working on the movie East Fifth Bliss, starring alongside Lucy Liu.
I am happy and excited to hear this news. While Hall maintained a positive front for the cameras and paparazzi, the only people who can know what he truly went through are his friends and family.
Fellow Dexter lovers will be happy to hear that production for the next season is slated to start this summer.
