The second season of the hilarious HBO comedy Eastbound and Down is set to take place in Mexico. At the end of the first season, ex-baseball star Kenny Powers, played by the funny Danny McBride, fled North Carolina and headed to Mexico.
So what kind of craziness will Kenny get into down south? Well, he joins a local baseball team. Michael Pena of Crash joins the cast as Kenny’s friend and the owner of the baseball team that he joins. Ana de la Reguera of Nacho Libre also joins the cast as Kenny’s love interest.
I have to say that I’m a little bummed that most of the first season’s cast won’t be taking part in this second season…especially Katy Mixon, who played the sweet and sassy April Buchanon. I just can’t imagine Kenny with anyone other than April. But I am willing to give de la Reguera a shot as my favorite baseball player’s romantic interest.
But the quirkily funny Steve Little, how plays Kenny’s sidekick Stevie Janowski, will make a return for the second season, as he tracks down Kenny in Mexico.
I can hardly wait for the season premiere of Eastbound and Down…how about you?
