NBC’s show The Marriage Ref is about to welcome a talented diva to their panel: Bette Midler. Midler is a two-time Academy Award nominee and a three-time Emmy winner known best for her music and her roles in Beaches and The First Wives Club.
Reports say that Midler and Deal or No Deal host Howie Mandel will fill two of the three slots on the panel for the show’s May 13th episode. There has been no news of who will fill in the third slot.
The series has received high ratings and has already had a slew of high-profile guests on the panel including Sheryl Crow, Eva Longoria-Parker, Madonna and Alec Baldwin. The show is hosted by comedian Tom Papa. Each episode, the celebrity panel looks at both side of a real-life couple’s marital argument before the host rules who is in the right and who is in the wrong.
The Marriage Ref is produced by comedian Jerry Seinfeld and has recently been picked up for a second season.
I wonder if they’ll ever consider having non-celebrity guests on the panel. I, personally, would be a fantastic guest. All I know is that I’m always right when my husband and I argue. (Snicker, snicker.)
