On tonight’s episode, Max (Eric McCormack) tries to help Christine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) undertake some serious life changes when she realizes her five-year automobile lease is up…and her life hasn’t really changed all that much during those five years.

American Idol (8:00 p.m. EST, FOX)

Tonight’s the night for one of the top 7 wannabe stars to go home. The episode focuses on “Idol Gives Back,” featuring performances by the Black Eyed Peas, Alicia Keys, Elton John, Carrie Underwood, Annie Lennox, Jeff Beck, Mary J. Blige, and Joss Stone. Lots of big names there! “Idol Gives Back” raises money for global and United States charities including Feeding America, Children’s Health Fund, Save the Children’s U.S.

Programs, Malaria No More, and the United National Foundation. As an extra treat, Queen Latifah acts as emcee during the performance part of the episode.

Through a Dog’s Eyes (8:00 p.m. EST, PBS)

This documentary follows Canine Assistants founder Jennifer Arnold, who takes on the task of training dogs to assist those with disabilities. The canine-recipient matching process is looked at in detail, and you’ll get the chance to see what a huge impact these dogs have in the recipients’ lives. The cases include a 6-year-old boy suffering from cerebral palsy, an Iraq War veteran who was involved in a car accident that left him a quadriplegic, and an 11-year-old girl who has a rare form of epilepsy. Neil Patrick Harris narrates this documentary.
