It wouldn’t be a day in the entertainment news industry if Jon Stewart wasn’t out there ruffling a few media feathers. Last week, Stewart may even have told FOX News to “go f**k themselves.” Okay, he actually did, there was no maybe about it.
Bernie Goldberg had a few things to say about Jon Stewart and his lack of guts on The O’Reilly Factor. He accused Stewart of romancing Frank Rich, giving him a lap dance and practically sticking his tongue Rich’s throat. Rich then went on to compare Stewart to a less funny, safer version of Jay Leno with a smaller viewing audience and the power to drop the F-bomb. He also called Stewart’s viewing audience incredibly unsophisticated.
Stewart not only stuck up for his audience, but noted he was a courageous renegade, the Lorenzo Lamas of late night.
Von Monocle spoke up from the audience on behalf of the sophisticated, yet elitist audience.
He apologized for telling Goldberg and FOX News to “go f**K themselves,” both last week and that time he said it six months ago. Then he took a moment to talk directly to Bernie Goldberg, serenading the news caster, with a full gospel choir to back him up. He doesn’t need to satisfy Goldberg’s versions of what’s fair and impartial because FOX News is the Lupus of news.
Oh, Jon Stewart. How I love you, much more than I love Jay Leno, who I actually hate.
