Never underestimate the power of music. For centuries it has been bringing people together, giving them common ground to share even in the most desperate times. It touches hearts and souls, and if you have even a single doubt, just check out today’s video.

Generally flash mobs, a recent social media fueled trend, get a pretty bad reputation. Teens have been known to gather in flash mobs to loot and tear cities apart piece by piece, but the people who gathered last week in Seattle had another plan in mind.

They call themselves “Gleeks.” Obsessive fans of the popular, musical FOX television series, Glee, gathered in Seattle to show the public that a mob force doesn’t need tear gas and mass police force on standby. They used the power of the mob to share their love of Glee, music and dance.

While one might think FOX came up with this clever marketing ploy to spread word about Glee’s return to prime time last week, the event was actually orchestrated by fans.

Way to turn a negative into a positive, Gleeks. What an inspirational way to start the day. Now, if you’ll excuse me I feel like dancing. Won’t you join me?
