Glee returned to FOX last night after American Idol, taunting viewers during the commercial breaks between Idol with their plans to explore classic Madonna songs in “The Power of Madonna.” When Fox first starting airing promos and teasers for season two of Glee, one of the funniest clips had Sue Sylvester, played by actress Jane Lynch, modeling the hilarious Madonna cone bra.

Sue Sylvester’s “Vogue” video debuted last week; a teaser to keep anxious fans on the edge of their seat, and now that Glee is back, the video is everywhere. A clear mock-up of the original Madonna video, it’s actually pretty good. with Sylvester adding in her own lines near the end, including one that says, “Will Schuster, I hate you,” it adds to the hilarity of her nastiness on the show.

Unfortunately, watching American Idol each week has ruined me to the sound of song covers. I keep hearing Simon Cowell and Kira Dioguardi in the back of my head saying, “It’s too karaoke. I could see this on Broadway production, but never hear it on the radio.”

Which in its own right is a good thing, since Glee is supposed to be talented high school students exploring their individuality through music. I won’t lie. I thought this was hilarious, and you will too!
