A new, unauthorized biography by Kitty Kelley has hinted at a past romance between TV talk show host Oprah Winfrey and former Entertainment Tonight host John Tesh. Romances in Hollywood are typically no big deal—unless there’s some juicy gossip or scandal in there somewhere.

So why is the romance between Winfrey and Tesh getting so much attention? Well, it may have to do with past rumors that Oprah is a lesbian. There have been speculations regarding the woman’s relationship with her friend Gayle King. As of now, a romantic relationship between the two women has not been confirmed.

According to Kelley’s book, Winfrey and Tesh had a romantic affair while they were roommates back in the 1970s. The reason for their break-up? “Social pressure” due to their inter-racial relationship. Keep in mind that as of now, these are just rumors, as neither Winfrey nor Tesh have confirmed that they shared a romantic relationship.
