Conan O’Brien’s New Late Night Show
Conan O’Brien hasn’t had the best of luck in the past six months or so. In his own words, “In three months I’ve gone from network television to Twitter to performing live in theaters…” However, now he’s moving on to basic cable. It seems as though things are looking up in the redhead’s world.
O’Brien’s one-hour show is currently untitled and will debut in November at 11:00 p.m. EST, right after the World Series. The late-night show is scheduled to air Monday through Thursday. This timeslot has some great history—George Lopez’s Lopez Tonight aired at this time during its first season and averaged over 1.2 million viewers.
This news marks a relieving end to the late-night wars that began when Jay Leno returned to NBC’s 11:35 p.m. EST slow and went on to push O’Brien out of his hosting duties for the Tonight Show.
While O’Brien was expected to make a move to Fox, his move to TBS will undoubtedly cause a major raise in TBS’s profile. So, those of you who went into mourning when O’Brien left the Tonight Show, it’s time to put your black grieving clothes back in the closet. The redhead is back—and promises to be funnier than ever.
