Last week rumors surfaced that Charlie Sheen was battling with CBS executives over his contract, suggesting he was asking for way more money per episode than ever before to continue appearing on Two and a Half Men.

Sheen wanted to take a moment to set the record straight, saying in an E Online exclusive, “Both parties have known the score for over a year. In no way has this been a hasty or negligent eleventh hour surprise.”

Tonight is the final taping of the season, and if CBS does not renew Sheen’s contract, the show may go on without him. In response to the notion, Sheen said, “If tonight’s show is the end for me as Charlie Harper, so be it. Another journey has begun.”

Without Charlie Sheen, the show would become “One and a Half Men,” and though Jake and Allen are funny enough on their own, the series just wouldn’t be the same without Uncle Charlie.

So, when will we know the score? It’s hard to say, as CBS executives seem to be weighing their options rather carefully. I for one, will be waiting with baited breath to find out the scoop, as this has become one of my favorite night-time sitcoms.
