Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past six months or so, you know all about the various scandals surrounding golfer Tiger Woods. Several of Woods’ sponsors canceled his sponsorship due to his indiscretions and affairs. But not Nike!

Just last night, the newest Tiger Woods Nike commercial aired (watch it here), featuring a black and white close up or Woods’ face. The expression on his face is somber, morose even. Undoubtedly, he’s thinking about the many black marks that have been made upon his reputation.

But what’s causing the most controversy is the voice over. It’s not Tiger’s voice, or even that of his wife’s. It’s the voice of Tiger’s late father, Earl Woods. The commercial lasts a mere 30 seconds, but it’s long enough to get the point across. Daddy’s not happy with Tiger, and he chastises him…from the grave. His voice says, “I want to find out what your thinking was; I want to find out what your feelings are.”

Tiger never opens his mouth, never speaks a word. He gazes into the camera, seeming as though he’s about to start crying. As his father’s “speech” is over, the Nike logo flashes on the screen.

Creepy, Nike. Creepy. But somewhat intriguing as well…what do you think of the commercial?
