Two days ago, Monica Beresford-Redman went missing during a shopping trip in Cancun, Mexico.  She was supposed to return home today, her birthday.

Her husband, Bruce Beresford-Redman, spoke out after her disappearance in hopes she would be found.  ”I’m very hopeful someone will find my wife very soon. She still hasn’t been located and we’re looking,” Bruce Beresford-Redman said.

Instead of birthday celebrations, the Beresford-Redman family is in mourning.  Monica was found dead, shoved in a sewer at a resort where the family stayed during their vacation today (Thursday).  No cause of death has been reported, but there is speculation that she was strangled.

Bruce Beresford-Redman is an award-winning Survivor producer who has also written and produced episodes of the short lived reality series The Restaurant and was the co-creator and executive producer of Pimp My Ride.

AOL’s PopEater reports “The official from the attorney general’s office in Quintana Roo state, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said police have named the TV producer as a supect in his wife’s death. [...] A witness at the Moon Palace resort told officials that the couple had been seen arguing on Sunday.”

The NY Daily News reported that Monica’s sister, Carla Burgos was absolutely devastated at the news.  Burgos said, “They were having some troubles, but I didn’t think he was capable of something like that,” but she did not elaborate on what those troubles might be.
