Colombian Drug Scopolamine
There are so many different drugs out there today that it’s becoming impossible to keep up. Just one more example of this is the drug scopolamine, which was featured on VBS TV, also called Vice TV.
What is scopolamine, and what does it do? It’s derived from various plants including those of the nightshade family. That in itself should cause worry. After all, nightshade can be fatal. But in small doses, the drug can help a variety of issues including motion sickness.
However, this isn’t the side of scopolamine those who watched the Vice TV documentary Colombian Devil’s Breath were shown. VBS TV is an online broadcast network that constantly streams original content.
The network partnered with CNN to produce Colombian Devil’s Breath and expose the truth about this dangerous—and scary—drug.
When used in large doses, scopolamine, also called devil’s breath, literally takes away the users free will, leaving the user fully functional and conscious but extremely open to suggestion. Scopolamine has been used as an aid for robbers as well as for a date-rape drug.
Vice staffers traveled to Bogota to investigate the drug, and some of the staffers were even planning on giving scopolamine a try. However, that quickly changed after interviews with both victims affected by the drug and the criminals who use it. Needless to say, none of the staffers tried devil’s breath…and I don’t blame them.
