Easter Monday every year, the White House holds its annual Easter Egg Roll. It’s a major event with a lot of celebrities and famous performers entertaining the crowd, and this year some of the big names in attendance include the cast of Glee, Sesame Street, Justin Bieber and J.K. Rowling.

The theme of this year’s egg roll is “Ready, Set, Go!” in honor of First Lady Michele Obama’s recent campaign to encourage childhood activity and battle youth obesity. As one of the biggest annual events at the White House, attendees are chosen via a lottery drawing, which limits the numbers. Fortunately, you can still watch the events, including the guest performances and the actual egg roll once it gets under way.

Egg rolling is a popular Easter tradition celebrated in many cultures. The object of the game is to roll decorated Easter eggs through the lawn with a long-handled spoon. With two young girls in the White House, you can definitely see their influence over a number of this year’s chosen guests.

The White House will be streaming portions of the event live all day, and you can watch it right here. So grab your Easter candy and you’re long-handled spoon, and let’s spend the day with the First Family.
