Weather watchers got a surprise on April Fool’s Day: guest weather anchor Steve Carell. Carell stood in for the regular weather man on UK’s GMTV, and I for one am glad he’s got absolutely no meteorology experience.

Promising everyone from California to Scotland rain, rain and more rain over the Easter holiday weekend, Carell probably got about half the forecast right. He was completely off for my neck of the woods, which enjoyed highs in the low 80s and sun, sun, sun!

When asked what the world could expect, Carell says, “There are lots of umbrellas the will be unfolding this weekend because we are expecting rain.”

He also predicted ice for much of the U.K. “Ice in triangles,” which apparently the most dangerous type of ice there is. In London there would be sun and clouds mixed together, making nothing. Good thing I don’t live in the U.K. Ice in triangles sounds pretty scary.

Funny man, Carell who is best known for his role as Michael Scott in NBC’s The Office, has also appeared in numerous films, such as the Forty Year Old Virgin and Dan in Real Life, and had a recurring role on Saturday Night Live for eleven years.
