Academy Award nominated actress, Gabourey Sidibe, who starred in the film Precious, is slated to host Saturday Night Live on April 24.

The twenty-six-year-old star expressed an interest in comedy during a February interview, noting that she would love to diversify and show people she’s a multifaceted actress. Coming off of such a serious role in Precious, viewers will be watching carefully to decide if Sidibe has what it takes to tickle funny bones.

Rumors have also surfaced that Sidibe’s self-proclaimed crush, Justin Timberlake, would be performing that night as well, but sources report that information to be false.

The rising star is on a roll, having kicked off her acting career by starring in an award-winning film. As she continues to skyrocket to stardom, opportunities for further advancement keep presenting themselves, and this chance for her to appear on Saturday Night Live will only open more doors for the young actress.

She is also set to star in the upcoming television series, The Big C, about a mother diagnosed with cancer. While there is nothing funny about cancer, she searches for the light and humor in her situation in order to keep up her family in a positive frame of mind.
