I doubt this is how Stephanie Edwards imagined she’d get back into the limelight.

Monday night Edwards was arrested in Savannah, Georgia, after getting into a nasty fight with a woman Edwards claimed was harassing her by calling and threatening her all day.  Edwards confronted the woman at her home and the fight escalated into the street.  The other woman involved, Laquilla White, claims Edwards hit her first and she was merely defending herself.

“It was a fight,” said Gina Moore, Chatham County sheriff’s spokeswoman, to E! News. “It happened around 10 o’clock last night. It was pretty basic. She was arrested and charged and bailed out relatively quickly.”  Both women were transported to a nearby jail but Edwards has since been released.  Edwards was charged with fighting in public and affray.  She came out of the fight with a few scratches on her face and neck, but White ended up with a black eye.

Stephanie Edwards is 22 years-old and was a finalist (she placed 11th) on American Idol’s season six, the season Jordin Sparks took home the title.  The Savannah native dropped off the radar after her departure from American Idol.

So how many ex-contestants of American Idol are going to get in trouble with the law?  Is anyone keeping count?
