After the eliminations results last night on Dancing with the Stars, a number of avid fans and TV bloggers are in an uproar this morning, believing the voting was rigged.
The first couple up for elimination was Pamela Anderson and Damian Whitewood, and the public was appalled. Anderson has brought life and fun to the show, and unlike some of the other celebrity contestants on the show (cough, Kate Gosselin, cough) Anderson can actually dance. The next couple put on the chopping block was Shannen Doherty and her partner, Mark Ballas.
Cue internet bloggers shock and appall. After Kate Gosselin’s behavior, and the hordes of people out there who just simple don’t like the reality star, the buzz on the net today is that the voting was rigged by the judges in Kate’s favor.
Is it possible? There is also news that Doherty’s partner, Ballas, was injured and would be no longer able to dance, leaving Doherty paired up with his father. Perhaps if it was rigged, it was a choice of convenience, but we’ll probably never know. Supposedly, it’s up to the public to vote for their favorites and determine who goes on to the next round.
Either way, the fact that Gosselin is still in the running is just another cause to give us question about the merits of reality television game shows.

Not a hater

The thing of it is, there aren't that many people who hate Kate Gosselin - just a handful of extremely hateful women who spend hours every day on the internet trying to convince the rest of the world how horrible they think Kate is. They post with multiple usernames and take over the comment sections of articles about Kate. 99% of the world do not follow Kate on the internet and either are ambivalent about her or they like her. Want to see insane? Google jibberjabbers gosselin and see how crazed these women really are.

Vote for Kate, stamp out the hate!
March 31st, 2010 - 6:26:10 AM
Many people are voting for Kate to take a stand against the small group of women who are trying to ruin her life. Kate has never done anything to hurt anybody that is nearly as offensive as what these women are trying to do to her.

Hate is a strong word...I think there are many more who dislike Kate than hate her. I have never seen an episode of JK+8 so I am basing my opinion on only what I see of her on DWTS. Frankly, she can't dance. At all. Based only on her dancing I would not vote for her. But add to that how ugly she has treated her dance partner, her diva attitude and glaring looks during show time...this woman needs to take a look in the mirror and reflect on just why she behaves the way she does.

I voted for just to piss off the crazy people who are obsessed with hating her. She can't dance and she won't win, but if her staying makes those lunatics frustrated....then I hope she stays for a while.

There are more of us women who can't stand Pam Anderson than Kate. She stands for everything I abhor in women. I'm a long time feminist and Kate is more real than Pam.

Whether anyone wants to believe it or not, Kate Gosselin has an ENORMOUS following among American women, and they are clearly voting and voting often. Her critics are vocal but smaller in number, and I am sure a certain number of people want her to stay on just for the uncomfortable entertainment value. Pam Anderson may be a better performer, but she doesn't play as well in conservative middle-America.

We are NOT a handful of women who "Hate Kate" I personally can't stand looking at her, but I also know she can't dance either. She obviously can't be taught and has so little respect for professionals that she want to tell them what to do. I don't sit at home eating in front of my TV. I have a very good, high paying job and a very loving husband. My children are grown and are also very successful. Kate just sucks, plain and simple. So all of you Kate lovers who like to make generalizations about those of us who don't like Kate, get a brain cell that works and see Kate for who she really is.

Uhm, im sorry. I hate Kate Gosselin, shes a dumb idiot. Shes a disgusting, unprofessional and her dancing partner can't even stand her crap. "But this is how I learn.." yea okay..whos the professional???! Either learn it the right way or get the hell off the show. Shannen should have stayed. Whatever, Pam Anderson is a class act and CLEARLY can dance. Some women are jealous of her because shes had work done and looks good and just can't admit it.

I must of missed the uproar when Tom Delay and Master P lasted several weeks while better dancers were voted off before them. I must be missing all the sturm und drang over Buzz Aldrin not being in the bottom three, even though he's gotten worse scores than Kate Gosselin both weeks. Nothing is rigged. It's just more tiresome Kate-hate. By the way, proofreading is our friend. Your sentence: "Queue in internet shock and appall" is...shocking and appalling. You mean "cue," first of all. The sentence would not be grammatically correct even if you'd used the right word, and I'm not even sure how to correct it. How about, "Cue the internet cries of shock and appallment"? That's not a great sentence either but at least it's closer to being proper English.

We have watched the show since season one, and have never been so disappointed. The show has turned into a populairty contest, and has completely gotten away from judging the celeberty on their dancing abilities .I hope the show see's this and they can do something to get the the show back on track, so the public will not lose intrest, and the show be cancelled, it would be a great lose, because it has been fantastic up til now.

For the first time ever I attempted to vote for a contestant and that contestant was Shannon Doherty. I wasn't able to get through once - after trying consistently for 40 minutes. I again tried 20 minutes later and the voting was closed for my part of the country. I've voted for American Idol contest tons of times without a problem of getting in - just saying...

I was a successful dancer for over 30 years (now retired), however; the judging has been definitely tainted since the Gosselin(sp?)/Anderson Season. Hell! Hasselhoff didn't even make it as far and he didn't even score as high as they did in my book! B. Palin has shown some improvements but her movements are as 'exciting' as Kate Gosselin's.....absolutely no spunk. Rick & Cheryl were sacrificed and he has worked with is sport injuries as did Grey. But now that I know this is rigged - I have several friends who are starting to watch NCIS LA instead of another rigged "reality show." I am thoroughly disappointed. Dancing seeing for myself the show is definitely rigged is a show I will no longer watch. I love the judges for their knowlegde as I can reallly see and admire their candidness - I noticed the immediate "kiss-up" to Pamela Anderson and to Bristol Palin. I questioned my opinion and thought myself being too harsh a judge - NOT!

Dancing with the stars is dying. The judges are paid off. I am a Republican --but fair is fair. Palin is no dancer or Miss Personality.... Did you see the clip online when her mom asked her if a move was "like a lapdance?" And poor B. explained the next move where she had to waggle her but/hips. Explaining tells a story in itself and S.Palin explaining to the camera that she always told Bristol to 'be herself' explains the dominating power here.....
