The Hills has finally come to an end.
The show, which brought such people as Heidi Montag into the limelight, has been around for six season. EW.com released an exclusive today stating that the season that will premiere on April 27th will be the final one for the show.
“I think we’ve told the story of struggle and of finding yourself in L.A.,” creator Adam DiVello said to EW. “A lot of these kids have found themselves and have certainly embarked on different careers and different paths.” This includes Montag, who will open the season with revealing her new plastic surgery to her mother. “We tell the whole story. We pick right up where Heidi goes and sees her parents. And our cameras are there that minute the mother opens the door and sees her daughter for the first time.”
The Heidi/Spencer train will be the main focus of the season, but Spencer will be taking a break from the first few episodes. “Spencer is dealing with some stuff right now, and once he gets through that, we’ll be back to shooting with Spencer again. Bottom line is you will see him. He’ll be in most of the episodes,” said Divello. Lauren Conrad may return for the final season to give the fans a satisfying conclusion to the drama that happened in Laguna Beach.
All I have to say about this is thank you MTV. Thank you.

Ok, I hate to admit it, but this show had to go. Funny look back at the show: http://thesmogger.com/2010/03/25/saying-farewell-to-the-hills/

May The Hills rest in peace. I knew this show would be over as soon as Lauren decided to sign off and Kristen took over. Does anyone remember how drawing out Laguna Beach totally killed that show? The thing about The Hills is that they could have made it cool – had they focused on them becoming stars and their paparazzi lives rather than the mistake of trying to keep portraying them as unchanged by their new lives. It’s so contrived now – it’s almost as fake as Heidi’s appearance. A eulogy to the show that brought us Les Deux and Speidi: http://thesmogger.com/2010/03/25/saying-farewell-to-the-hills/
