It seems as though I spoke too soon in yesterday’s blog post. Upon reading through the news this morning, there are tons of articles providing one extra—and disturbing—fact regarding The Real World’s David “Puck” Rainey’s accident: alcohol was involved.

Puck has been arrested for driving under the influence. In a comment to TVGuide.com, highway patrol spokesman Brian Pennings reported that the level of alcohol in the reality star’s blood would have made it almost impossible for the driver to “negotiate a curve in the road way.”

So it seems as though Puck wasn’t really trying to avoid hitting a deer—or was he? Did a deer jump in the road, causing Puck to swerve and lose control of his vehicle? Whether or not the claim is true, the fact still remains that the reality star was driving while intoxicated—with his 8-year-old son in the car.

And that’s what bothers me the most. That poor kid has grown up thinking that his parents know best, and his own father put him in a dangerous situation by driving under the influence.

Alright, Puck. It’s time to grow up…and for real this time.
