David “Puck” Rainey, from The Real World: San Francisco, was involved in a tragic car accident on Friday. Puck and his 8-year-old son were traveling down Route 79 in southern California for a father-son fishing trip when the reality star swerved to avoid hitting a deer and lost control of his vehicle.

After rolling down an embankment, the car landed upside down in a creek. Both father and son were seriously injured, and Puck was trapped in the car. However, he was able to free his son, who then got help for his father.

The two were hospitalized in San Diego, where it was discovered that Puck had broken several bones in his right hand, both feet, and had broken his neck. He had also fractured his clavicle and his sternum.

The 8-year-old suffered serious damage to his liver as well as bruising several internal organs.

Puck’s son has since been released; however, the reality show star remains hospitalized and will most likely remain that way for another week or so.

I have to say, when I first saw that Puck was in an accident, I expected to see that alcohol was involved. After all, who doesn’t remember Puck’s crazy and eccentric ways on The Real World? But it seems as though this reality misfit has grown into a responsible adult and father. But next time, Puck—hit the deer.
