Toni Collette has become one of my favorite actresses, and a lot of it has to do with her genius in United States of Tara. She portrays four completely different personalities so well…I just love her.

Back to the show! Tonight was the season premiere of United States of Tara, and we picked up three months after the close of the first season. Tara has been alters-free, and she thinks that she’s cured. She’s happy, feeling “normal.” She and Max (John Corbett) even invite the “gay couple” from the neighborhood over for dinner.

Meanwhile, Marshall (Keir Gilchrist) is having a tougher time than his mom. He doesn’t even fit in with his fellow homosexuals at the “gable”—that’s right.

The gay table. Poor kid is trying to find his own way, and he just can’t seem to find it. But by the end of the episode, he’s getting a little bit closer to realizing just who he is and how to fit in.

Tara’s other kid, the awesome and quirky Kate (Brie Larson) has graduated from high school and is looking for a new job. She continuously makes me laugh…between her dry cynicism and witty delivery, she just kills me.

Back to the star of the show…while things had been going great with her mental state, she gets thrown for a loop when a neighbor commits suicide. After Tara visits the deceased’s home and bedroom, something’s knocked a little loose, and Buck comes out to save the day.

I know I probably don’t have to say it, but I am freaking stoked for next week’s episode.
