After the musical Hairspray left theaters, we didn’t see much of Nikki Blonsky, the girl who literally became Tracy Turnblad.

That’s about to change.

According The Hollywood Reporter, Blonksy has just been cast to star in the ABC Family new show called Huge along with Andrew Caldwell, Hayley Hasselhoff, and Zander Eckhouse.  The show will revolve around six teens and the staff at Wellness Canyon, a camp dedicated to weight-loss.  THR says, “It centers on Will (Blonsky), a funny, opinionated overweight girl sent to the camp by her wealthy parents who own a chain of fitness centers, and Amber (Hasselhoff), a curvy teen who is the skinniest and hottest girl at the camp but who considers herself too heavy.”  Huge is being billed as Glee meets Ugly Betty.

Huge is based on the book of the same name written by Sasha Paley.  Winnie Holtzman (creator of My So Called Life) and her daughter Savannah Dooley are penning the ten episode show that will air in June.

If this show really lives up to its billing of being Glee and Ugly Betty combined, this could be the next big thing.  Unfortunately, it may be tough to live up to those words.

I know I’m not the only person who wondered what Blonksy’s been doing since Hairspray.  I really hope she does well in this role.
