Last night the American Idol top 20 was dropped to the top 16 and a few people were shocked by the results. I know I was. Last week the contestants that left were pretty predictable and this week two of the four sent home were predictable as well. The other two, however, were not.
Jermaine sellers sang “What’s Going On” by Marvin Gay and I was sure he would be one to leave. John Park sang “Gravity” by John Mayer. I loved this song, but apparently, I was one of the chosen few, because he was also sent home. Casey James was my other pick for going home. I don’t see what everyone sees in him. The remaining men are Michael Lynche, Casey James, Alex Lambert, Todrick Hall, Andrew Garcia, Aaron Kelly, Tim Urban and Lee Dewyze.
Of the girls I had picked Haley Vaughn for the elimination and was right. Haley slaughtered the Miley Cyrus song “Climb.” I actually hit the fast foreword button on my DVR, to make the pain stop. Also eliminated was Michelle Delamor who sang “With Arms Wide Open” by Creed. Last week she was one of the judge’s favorites and this week I thought the song was awesome. America must not have been drawn in by the Diva nature of Michelle.
Earlier in the week, Crystal Bowersox was hospitalized but was able to perform. She moved on into the top 16 with Lacey Brown, Katie Stevens, Didi Benami, Lily Scott, Katelyn epperly, Page Miles and Siobhan Magnus.
Out of the performances this week the only shocker was Siobhan Magnus who sang “Think.” She rocked the song and belted out a note at the end that made me sit up and take notice. At this point, I think that it is Michael Lynche and Crystal Bowersox in the lead.

Casey is one of the best on the show. Michelle sounded HORRIBLE. She is nice but cannot carry a tune.

I don't watch American Idol (sorry folks) but I'm rooting for either Crystal (because of her age/experience) or Siobhan (because I LOVE) her name.

I'll tell you what we see in Casey. Casey is talented, good-looking and had a humble beginning as a local musician that deserves to have a big break. I don't you recognize that the reason why contestants are not as mind-blowing amazing compared to last seasons is because the judges really picked natural and very raw talent. I do think that Casey fits in these criteria. He's natural, raw and very good-looking in an endearing way.
