Yeah, Ireland I don’t think spends a lot of cash on their Olympic athletes;) But yes, considering curling is a Scottish game, you’d think another celtic nation would compete well. It’s interesting too that the Great Britain squad is the Scotland squad in every competition except the Olympics. The Queen likes it that way I guess!

See BillyBob, you make valid points. NBC does need to acknowledge the hockey fan and provide coverage more geared toward them and I wrote as much in an article for this site a few months back. So why not state those opinions and stay away from dumb jock minded assaults on a complete stranger? You even did it again at the end of your last comment. I love hockey. I’ve been playing since I could walk, over 30 years now, and am a level 5 certified coach with USA Hockey. Introducing new people to hockey and seeing them learn and love the game like I do, and I presume you do, is an honor and something hockey fans should all strive to do. Belittling someone for getting Ryan Miller’s first name wrong seems more like a football move to me. Let’s focus the discussion on the problem and stay away from pick-up basketball name calling.

I am not trying to get “new people” interested in ice hockey. Nor should NBC. If you are not a hockey fan, stay away (that was my message to Mr. or Ms. Ice Dancer, above). NBC’s pathetic catering to non-hockey fans in their limited coverage of hockey SUCKS. NBC should get out of the way and simply provide the CBC feed for hockey. That would overjoy hockey fans. CBC knows hockey. The rest of you schmucks can watch ice dancing to your heart’s delight.

Figure skating has definitely been one of the scheduling complaints. It is extremely popular, so NBC holds it till near the end of its broadcast which means past 10:30. Hardly makes sense. Oh, and BillyBob, that’s exactly the way to get new people interested in ice hockey, insult them. *sarcasm*
