The critically acclaimed animated show Archer has been renewed for a second season.
Archer was created by Adam Reed who is also an executive producer on the project along with Floyd County Productions and fellow executive producer Matthew Thompson. FX Productions decided to produce the show for ten episodes for its first season, but since the show has done so well with target audiences (averaging 1.2 million Total Viewers, 853,000 Adults 18-49 and 573,000 Adults 18-34) the network has decided to bring Archer back in 2011- this time with a thirteen episode order.
Nick Grad, Executive Vice President of Original Programming for FX Networks said in a statement, “Executive Producers Adam Reed and Matt Thompson are delivering a hilarious series and it truly earned a second season. H.
Jon Benjamin, Aisha Tyler, Jessica Walter, Chris Parnell and Judy Greer comprise one of the best voice casts of any animated series on TV. We’re very happy with the audience response and critical acclaim for Archer and are excited to move forward with it.”
Archer is an animated comedy set in the spy agency International Secret Intelligence Service (ISIS) where the spies generally try to screw each other up while committing espionage. H. Jon Benjamin voices the lead character “Sterling Archer” for whom the show is named after. There are still three episodes left in this season.
