Andrew_Koenig_300x300Despite our eyes being glued to the Olympics on television and our minds pondering medal counts, news continued to flow with or without our acknowledgement.  So what happened this weekend?

Andrew Koenig has disappeared.  If the name doesn’t ring bells with you, you may recognize the actor from his years of playing Boner Stabone on Growing Pains(or the fact that his father, Walter Koenig, played Chekov on the original Star Trek).  The actor was last seen on February 14th in Vancouver where he missed his flight to leave the Olympic city.  The elder Koenig has stated that his son has depression and was not doing so well before his disappearance.  If anyone has any information about Andrew Koenig’s whereabouts, please contact Det.

Raymond Payette of the Vancouver PD at 604-717-2534.

Steven Segal may have a reason to celebrate.  A&E has decided to renew the docudrama Steven Segal: Lawman, following the former movie star and real life deputy around as he and his fellow officers keep the streets of New Orleans safe.  The series drew an average of 2.1 million viewers- the best ratings a freshman original series has ever brought A&E.

It’s a good thing Steven Segal doesn’t work in L.A. or Adrian Pasdar (Nathan Petrelli on Heroes) would have been in more trouble than he already is.  Back in January, officer pulled over the actor for swerving all over the road (and going 90 MPH on the freeway), gave him a field sobriety test, then arrested him as a result.  This weekend, the actor was officially charged with DUI.  Pasdar faces up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine at his February 24th sentencing.

Remember that television show I covered not long ago called Past Life?  I barely remember it myself so don’t worry.  Apparently the show is officially cancelled by FOX.  Instead, the network will be showing episodes of Kitchen Nightmares and the rest of the Past Life episodes will air sometime later this year.  I doubt anyone will watch them when they do.

I had to post something on the Olympics.  You knew it was coming, why fight it?  Apolo Ohno has become the most decorated Olympian in Winter Olympics history.  Ohno won his seventh medal this weekend by grabbing the bronze in the 1,000 meter speedskate.  He takes the record from fellow speedskater Bonnie Blair who has six medals from her 1980s-1990s career.  Ohno has two gold, two silver, and three bronze medals.

That’s it for this week’s Weekend Roundup.  Tune in next week to find out what squeaked in right at the end of the month!
