Danelle_Hayes_300x300Danelle Hayes wowed judges in Denver with her rendition of “I’m the Only One.” You may have been wondering why you did not see Danielle Hayes during the first week of American Idol in Hollywood. The answer is simple – criminal history.

Danelle Hayes has a rap sheet that is pretty impressive. The producers eliminated the Idol hopeful once they checked her past. Hayes has been arrested for a DUI, driving with a suspended license, theft and possession of marijuana. She is currently on probation and is not allowed to leave the state.

How stupid is this girl? She tries out for a show where she knows she would have to go to out of the state. She stands in line for hours then waits all day and she has to know that somebody is going to find out.

It’s American Idol!

According to Q13 Fox in Seattle, Danelle is has a seven year deferred prosecution for drunk driving.  Apparently, Danelle was hoping the producers would make arrangements with her probation officer to allow her to go to Hollywood. However, the producers were not as obliging as she hoped.

A criminal past does not eliminate you from completion. Many contestants have something in their past. However, probation and warrants are another story. The producers did tell her if she was released from probation she could try out again.
