2010 Winter Olympics 300x300This weekend was flooded with Olympic activity!  While I continue to bask in my country’s medal lead, other news did appear to happen over the past two days.  Who would’ve thought that would happen?

Eight years ago, Apolo Ohno took a spill during the 1,000 meter speedskating race, allowing the Australian Steven Bradbury to take the gold.  It almost happened again this year to Ohno, but he managed to squeak out of the wreckage and steal the silver medal in the 1500 meter race.  Right now, the United States has the highest medal count at the games, with one gold, two silver, and three bronze medals.  Click here to see more of the Winter Games schedule!

Good news for Laverne and Shirley fans!  While promoting his new movie Valentine’s Day, Garry Marshall said he has hopes to bring the television show about two Milwaukee girls searching for the men of their dreams to the big screen.  Who is his dream cast?

Jennifer Garner and Jessica Biel.  Having two beauty queens step into those roles makes no sense to me whatsoever.  Let’s just cast Ben Affleck and Matt Damon as Lenny and Squiggy while we’re at it.

The CBS remake of Hawaii Five-O has finally cast a lead.  Alex O’Loughlin, who we recently saw on the show Three Rivers, has been tapped to play Detective Steve McGarrett, the head of the Hawaii State Police Department.  O’Loughlin will star alongside Lost’s Daniel Dae Kim who is set to play Detective Chin Ho Kelly.

Besides watching the never ending repeats of Xena: Warrior Princess, you can catch Lucy Lawless in Caprica’s“Final Five” story arc.  The word on the street is that producers have asked Lawless to reprise her role as D’Anna to help the series get on their feet.  I’m sure Lawless will shine through.

Apparently Desperate Housewives needs more lovely ladies gracing its screen.  Heidi Klum and Paulina Porizkova are going to make a cameo appearance in an upcoming episode, but they are playing themselves.  The episode takes place in New York (even though it’ll be filmed in Los Angeles) but that’s all we really know right now.  I’ll watch Heidi Klum in almost anything, but I’m not a big Desperate Housewives fan.

That’s in for this week!  Tune in next week to find out what happened while you were relaxing!
