Past_Life_Pilot_300x300Out of all the criminal science and psychological dramas out there to choose from, I can’t think of a single reason for you to choose Past Life.

The premise of this show is that people don’t come to this Earth only once, that souls reincarnate.  People have “regressions” to their old lives that show them old memories.  Sometimes the memories are good, sometimes they aren’t.  In the case of bad memories, this crack science team (with the help of a handsome private investigator) tries to solve unsolved using the memories provided.  In these cases, a ninth grader named Noah remembers being a little girl who was murdered and Corinne regresses to a violent crime scene.

Noah leads them down the path of an eight year old girl named Rachel who was kidnapped, hit over the head and thrown into the ocean to drown while Corinne’s case ends up with Kate (Kelli Giddish) and Price (Nicholas Bishop) going to Florida to possibly save a death row inmate.

Honestly, the best actors were the people who “regressed,”  Noah and Corinne.  The other no name actors with generic racial character names (Dr.

Malachi Talmadge?  Really?) were boring and bland.  Grizzled cop loses his wife and starts working for the scientists who solve crimes.  Kelli Giddish’s  Dr. Kate McGinn is overly sympathetic towards the patients, to the point where it’s creepy.

All in all, not a great show.  I’d rather watch Bones.  Or Ghost Whisperer.  Just not this.
