That headline may be misleading, because boredom and a lackluster connection were probably the real reasons that Corrie was sent home on The Bachelor tonight. Yes, she finally opened up to Jake that she was saving herself for marriage, and I applaud that, wholeheartedly. Any woman who can stick to a conviction to honor herself in such a way, is amazing in today’s world, but she kept the bachelor Jake at arms length for way too long, and it was too little, too late—as the saying goes.
In comparison to the previous weeks, this episode was a snooze. I appreciate that Jake needs time to get to know the ladies, but it’s much more scintillating to be a drama voyeur.
If I could choose for Jake, Tenley would come out on top. She is, in my opinion a fun-loving real woman, who was more than ready to admit her past marital faults, when she was asked about them. In the end, Jake remained true to his pursuit for “heart appeal” and was the perfect gentleman during his double date with Gia and Vienna, and very considerate of their feelings in the tug-a-war over him. He sent Vienna out of his room at the Napa Valley Castello di Amorosa, despite the fact that he was having “dirty thoughts” about her, while he was “almost naked” in his bed. Good for him. Vienna needed to back-off a bit.
So really, after two hours, that is all I have to say. Darned if I tried to end the boredom, by rushing ahead to the rose ceremony, but I just didn’t have enough buffer on my Tivo recording to complete the task. I was also not the least surprised when Corrie failed to get a rose, were you?
I do hope that the hometown dates next week pick up the pace, and by all accounts from the preview, that just might be the case.
